  1. @Buffalo players may be getting paid soon: https://www.natlawreview.com/article/new-york-senate-bill-to-require-student-athletes-to-share-university-ticket-revenue Basketball, football, soccer....
  2. The radio guys also praised him for his sound decision making as a punt returner.
  3. Fearless Forecast™ : TA covers the spread. Best I can do for now.
  4. Shedding the baseball athletic scholarships was the right thing to do. If they can still field a competitive team then great.
  5. That broadcast was kind of a cesspool with the host criticizing the Zips defense for not playing mean enough.
  6. And the over/under is 52.5 ... since we know Troy will put up about 40 the question is whether the Zips can get 12-14. Being an optimist, I'll take the over.
  7. +16 open and creeping up..
  8. And they are thinking the same thing about us, unfortunately..
  9. They will be watching Burkhart like a hawk so he will be more of a decoy this game. I expect to see some runs and scrambles not to exceed 130 yards. Zips will need to show me they can get it done on the road against anyone ... I have to give the edge to McElwain's FBS experience in a close contest.
  10. If it's about foundational fundamentals and writing our story maybe we should have more of them for other aspects of the game as well.
  11. Let's hope we see plenty of it this weekend and no one gets their eye put out!

  13. It's just a shame the Trojans never played in the Rubber Bowl.
  14. I agree. Maybe one of our speedy receivers would be good at blitzing ?
  15. If Burkhart emerges as a first string WR I wonder if one of the other receivers could help us on defense(?)
  16. CMU favored by 7, I'll be glad if we keep it that close with no run game, bad special teams, and weak secondary. Chips have a number of injuries already though. If we can improve there are certainly some winnable games on the schedule.
  17. Dennison did coach us as 1-AA in the OVC days 1980-85.
  18. D. Sands - 6 yards N. Stewart - 8 yards
  19. Until I see consistent accurate passing and/or a real running attack I'm picking Kato to have the most rushing yards.
  20. Did anyone ever say anything about 'suspensions' (other than here)?
  21. If you photoshopped Arth out of that photo it would look like Bowden is still coaching the Zips.
  22. The major special team issue was punting, where Akron finished with 7 punts for a 30.4 yard average. And when you factor in the Illinois return yards, the average change in field position was 27 yards. Compare this with Illinois, who had 4 punts for a 46.0 yard average and average change in field position of 44 yards. So Illinois changed field position on punts 17 more yards on average than Akron. That is almost two first downs more per drive.
  23. Thanks. I thought the new guy was pretty good.
