Although not that far away, I see Zips and UA gear rather frequently here in Pittsburgh, which is obviously another state and the heart of Panther and Nittany Lion country.Hate to say it, but I found a Can't towel in a Steeler's bar in St. Martin (the Carribean) a couple months ago. I told the owner about the rivalry and proceeded to remove it from the wall and hung it over the toilet. That's all the benefit they need. The Big Ten Network is a hugely profitable venture. Add in that the International Bowl would switch to the Big Ten instead of the MAC. Buffalo could pull in Toronto, with their huge media market.Toronto is not going to care about US College football, there is no cross country play in any sport.There are three major school the Big 10 cares about and they are Rutgers, West Virginia, and V Tech. The Big 10 is going to try and cherry pick a team just like the ACC did. They certainly aren't going to go after a MAC school that has one good year.Rutgers wants in for two reasons, 1 they get a larger budget immediately. 2 their basketball program can actually compete.And if the Big 10 takes a team from the Big East, in turn, the Big East will be looking to add a new member school making all the points regarding UB relevant, but to another conference.Five years ago I could have seen Toledo being that school going to the Big East. Now I see it being UA or UB with the strong advantage to UB because of research and media market.

It amazes me that in difficult financial times that the opulence and grandeur of such a structure are justified for six primary events per year.

I brought this up weeks ago, but now that we are in and the conjecture more valid, who are the realistic matchups for us in the tourney and who are ideal opponents? Because we just got in last night and the brackets are announced at 6P today, the window of time for this discussion is tight.I see Florida State as a 3/4/5/6 seed depending on how they do against Duke today. We will likely be a 13-15 and in the same regional. Given the NIT win at FSU last year, I would love to play them again. The rosters are nearly the same, so the Zips should know they can win this matchup.Also, given the strengths of their programs and geographic locations, I would like to see the Zips schedule yearly matchups against Dayton, Duquesne, Cleveland State, and Niagra. Would make a very nice OOC schedule in addition to occasional Big 11/East programs. Great opportunites for fan/alumni roadtrips for away games too.

What a terrible 6 game stretch to end the season.

No game suspension because is was not a fighting foul. According to the talking heads on tv.The only thing that didn't make it a fight was Nate's showing class and not retaliating. Had he done so, both would have been suspended for fighting. What a joke!...Throwing a punch is a one-sided fight.
