This team has ran out of gas and not been great in clutch situations all year. I was at Q and never felt comfortable. Wish I knew what Groce said to get that Tech. He was definitely walking away. Thought the T on Ivey was bad and was the true turning point. Tough to win a game when your turning the ball over against the press or get into your offense with 15 seconds left on the shot clock. That's a recipe for disaster going against a quality zone. Needed better playmaking/decision making from our 5th year Sr. Agree with the statement that Patton probably should've played more during the final min. Very bullish on the future of this team. Groce really had the frosh playing hard.

Man Poke looked good in the pick and roll tonight and defending the rim. I love Parrish's game and the way he rebounds. Need more composer from our Sr point gaurd. If that was the case why didn't Akron run more? Or at the very least work in more bubble screens? They made no adjustment against press man coverage. Rvr'd the game and the commentators were also suprised. Playing it safe is not chucking low percentage bombs most possessions.

Groce's teams typically have their bigs come out for the high pick and roll. You won't see many coach D "Inside outside" sets moving forward. Loved Parrish's game last night.

Didn't read all the comments so forgive me if this has already been said. If Akron knew it was suspending Woody why did Akron not adjust the offense to Kato's strenghts? No RPO. Only until the 4th did they go empty. Watching Miami I couldn't help but think that type of offense would really fit wh what Akron has. They have all of these track guys so why are there never any jet sweep RPO's? Use the speed where you have it. That is certainly not at RB once Sands went down. Disappointed in the O line but some of that is on an athletic frosh QB. He will get much better. Not sure what Akron was trying to take away on D. When they went base 4-3 their LBs got exposed in space (Especially Houser). Thought the secondary played their hearts out. I've said it plenty of times Woody isn't a leader but I didn't expect this from a 5th year Sr. Win vs Kent and in your bowl is a must for me to consider keeping Bowden or forcing major changes to his staff.

It looks to me like we're starting to figure out who this team is. Any team with high end talent will smack Akron around. Against most MAC scools we should be able to hang. Any team that can run the ball effectively will give Akron trouble. That makese mevnervous for the OU game. That being said every game left on the schedule is winnable. Need better play from Woody. He has to be more accurate with the ball. His missed td pass to Bickley (?) was the beginning of the end. For once I liked the offensive game plan. Still want more Sands despite the fumble. The one thing that really bums me out is that I really thought we'd have talent like Toledo by now when Bowden was hired. Now, I'm pretty sure he won't be able to get us to that level. A great qb (Kato maybe?) can fix all of this with a D that returns just about everyone next year.
