I'd like to add a few thoughts on this topic. Many years ago I played for UA (Not football). During that time I was not a "Starter" but I certainly thought I was better than the person playing in front of me. There were many times when I thought about my options because I wanted more exposure from pro scouts. See that's what many posters don't realize is that most of these kids still think they have a shot to make it in the pros. It might be a .00000001% chance of that happening but to them it's greater than that. If you're not on the field, court, diamond, erc this will never happen. This is part of what separates them as division 1 athlete's in the first place. Their desire to be great. Student athlete's have a couple of options if they are unhappy with their situation. 1. They can stick it out and hope to develop and earn more playing time. Sometimes this works but often it does not. I won't lay out the reasons here. 2. They can walk away. Happens all the time. 3. They can find a school that values them for the skill set they have. A majority of today's student athlete's want positive and instant feedback so I cannot blame them for wanting to transfer. They are not loser's and in most cases not cancer's. They just want a shot and they want it now. The NCAA makes it pretty easy for them to do this now. You see this at every level at every school. It is the new normal so get used to it Zip fans. Sorry for the ramble but thought a different perspective was needed. Go Zips

I think you're missing the point of the article. He is mostly saying CFP is a invite only 2 bowl game system were NCAA tournament gives all DI members a chance to win a ship each year.

I think some of the stars they are using are from when they were high school seniors (Irons). Also some show a 247 ranking but no composite ranking. Not sure how that all translates but that's my best guess. -
So what's the word on Currie? Has he been passed on the rotation? Need someone to rebound and stretch the floor.
-
Just for some context I looked at both Buffalo and Kent. UB has 3 in the portal and KSU has 7. Both in much better situations than UA. This is the new normal in college athletics. Hope Arth uses it to his advantage.

1. Really happy for these kids to finally get a W 2. Liked what I saw out of Watts at corner. Needed much less 6 on the field. 3. Teon is a stud and should only get better as this young line gets stronger. 4. Speaking of the line, there's still too many jailbreaks. A combination of slow footwork and not recognizing assignments. I think it's fixable as I've seen some great seal blocks, especially from Grey. 5. Need to figure out the QB immediately. An average MAC QB gets you 4-5 wins next year. 6. It's a treat to watch Bubba play. Reminds me a lot of Jay Roher. If I am Arth I'm taking the entire team to any Covid hot spot I can think of so they don't have to travel to Buffalo next week. I kid I kid

Is the we need to use the TE more the equivalent of the we need a 7 ft back to the basket post player on the basketball thread?

I am thinking they view him as a long snapper with the ability to bulk up in a few years and see some snaps on the D Line. -
I am guessing that has something to do with their large online offerings.
-
I think it comes down to liability, cost of testing, and facility size to properly space players accordingly. Mostly liability though.

How Many Games Will the Zips Play this Year?
gozips19 replied to Dr Z's topic in Akron Zips Football
There's a recent Crains article that quotes UA estimated decline in enrollment around 20%. While that sounds high I've seen articles quoting the same decline for Kentucky so it's not just UA. -

Worst O Line I've ever seen. Slightly optimistic on Gibson. -
K Brown article https://dawindycity.com/2019/04/23/chicago-bears-nfl-draft-kyron-brown/ Zips haven't had 2 players drafted in the same draft. Let alone 3 right?!

Smart move by both sides. Both get paid. UB had to know je was gone. Smart to up the out clause.
