  1. I disagree. I think this team has made great strides in their free throw ability. The 2-3 games it cost us were Valpo and Duquesne, with Cleveland St. maybe being a possible one.
  2. My French teacher's favorite phrase. Haha. As for the bracket buster game, Oral Roberts lost by 15 to South Dakota State. However, looking at their schedule, South Dakota State doesn't seem to be that bad. They spanked Washington and have stayed close in several other big name games. They have an RPI of 64 on realtimerpi.com. Seems to actually be a decent loss. I also would've liked to see ORU run the table until their match-up with the Zips, but 1 lost to a top 65 ranked team isn't the end of the world. This does say, however, the Zips need to take care of business. Go Zips!
  3. ROOsack the MAC! Instead of "ransack" I don't know, just kinda came to mind. Haha.
  4. As a Norton High School student, I saw him play a lot. He torched our defense every time. Norton isn't the best, but we still have some solid athletes and he just made them look like water boys. Solid walk on.
  5. Can't State fans' take on this: http://ncaabbs.com/showthread.php?tid=552486 PURE JEALOUSY!
  6. I am VERY impressed with how Proenza is approaching his 2020 plan. As stated in an earlier post, who better to highlight this plan other than Jim Tressel? Really nobody. The guy owns NEO. He has many many many many MANY connections. The job position is a complicated title for the person who can take this university to the next level, whether that be a bigger conference, new arenas, better academics, or anything else in the 2020 plan. On a side note, on campus we now have Terry Bowden, his brother, Terrell Buckley, Jim Tressel, Keith Dambrot, Caleb Porter, Chuck Amato, and sometimes Bobby Bowden (not working here, but still will be on campus at times). Yeah, I'd say Akron is the place to be. It must REALLY suck to go to Can't State.
  7. I usually think Nik charges every time he drives, but I don't agree with that charge call. I think CMU just had a player just get nominated for an Oscar. Zips really need to just push this out and put the dagger in CMU early. I want a 20+ lead.
  8. Did anyone else feel the earth shake after that dunk by Tree? Zips playing pretty well. I'd like to see them quit shooting the 3 ball and start getting it inside, but hey, go with what is working at the time.
  9. That would be awesome. I think our coaching staff should go down to Florida near Florida State and such with a HUGE sign that reads: WE HAVE BOWDENS! COME PLAY FOR THEM!
  10. Diggs and Walsh can share the PG tonight if both true PGs aren't able to go. We could really use a full team, though. On the road, decent West team, and this is a very important game for our bracket buster.
  11. I checked them all because all of them are better than iCan'tCoach. Plus, just watching our staff on the sidelines is going to be great. Bowdens, The Chest, Buckley, etc.
  12. How many teams period could say that? This Zips team is just awesome. Haha. Go Zips!
  13. This team is for real. In past years, Zips teams would lose these type of let down games after a big win. Not anymore. It's crazy because we have 2 teams that can be put in.
  14. Murray State and Creighton would be awesome. Iona and Davidson would be ok. Oral Roberts and the rest aren't very exciting. Butler would be cool, but not much help with our RPI.
  15. Norton High School student. Born in Akron. My dad brainwashed me once I was born to bleed blue and gold, hate Ohio State, and LOATHE Can't State. Been a die-hard Zips fan ever since. In the winter of '06 I got a chance to sit with the AK-Rowdies and they basically adopted me as an honorary Rowdy. I have stood with them since then. Probably won't go to Akron as I plan on playing college tennis, but THE University of Akron will always be #1 in my heart. If I'm able to attend Zips games is actually one of the factors (minor) for which school I potentially pick to go to. Haha.
  16. Ball State has Jones and that's it. We have 9-11 players that can all contribute and have been contributing. No contest. Zips 80 Ball State 58
  17. These are amazing problems to have. Haha. GO ZIPS!
  18. He is an athlete. He's done everything for Wadsworth. I'd say he's about 5'10 if not a little bit taller, but his build is that of like a Maurice Jones-Drew or Ray Rice (not comparing him at all to these guys skill wise, just an idea of his physical attributes). I don't know about his speed at all, but he has that shorter, stocky build. One that is hard to tackle.
  19. I played T-Ball with Jack Snowball and take a class at Wadsworth while occasionally seeing Jack in the halls. Dave Snowball is his father, who was a coach for the Zips in the 90s-early 00s. Bowden definitely needs to be aware of Snowball. The kid has a very solid build with tremendous running power. The Wadsworth offense was ran around him, leading them to an undefeated regular season and a deep run in the state tournament. I, for one, would love to see Jack become a Zip. It's sad to see such a great kid, with the accolades he has, not get any big time looks. Would be a steal for Bowden and his program.
  20. That T on Zeke was ridiculous. Cooper had no business getting into Zeke's stomach (too short to get into his face) after apparently giving him a cheap shot in the back on the foul. Q didn't need to say what he said, but Groce was running his mouth the whole freaking game, going ballistic at the end, and never got T'd up. That being said, it was nice to see the bad officiating go our way for once. Haha. I feel like Zeke changed the game with his presence alone. Q had some prime shots. Harney had a very nice game. Treadwell had a solid day on the boards, as usual. Nitro finally had a breakout game, nailing some shots. Abreu and Nik had some stupid plays, but overall had decent games. I like Gilliam out there. He doesn't contribute much on the stat sheet, but he brings hustle and and exciting game with his athleticism. Walsh is just smooth. Very fun to watch him play. I really hate that school. It is so sweet to beat them. Not impressed with anyone on that team. Baltic seemed to be a very improved player since last year, but he doesn't have that take-over ability. Taylor might be a great player in a few years, but his inexperience shows. 3-0 in the MAC. Buffalo cannot be overlooked with the Can't game looming next Saturday. LET'S GO ZIPS!
  21. Solid run being put together by the Zips. Zeke with a few jams. Keep it up guys!
  22. BG is killing us in effort and execution. Nik decided to start his 3s early, putting up one in the first 5 minutes.
  23. Ooooh ... that's nice!
  24. Firestone seems to be getting some solid players for their sports. One of my best friends just moved in with his mom, who lives in the Firestone school district. He was Norton's QB, and was the top DIII QB in the state during the regular season, top 30 QB in all of Ohio. From what I've heard, Firestone has a couple Ohio State football recruits. Could be a solid football team next year. With the addition of Payne, look for Firestone to do some damage in multiple sports next year.
