  1. Coming out of the half on fire! Forcing CMU to call timeout. Nice, Coach Jackson!
  2. This has been an ongoing, year-long issue. At this point in the schedule there is no reason (besides wishful thinking) to think that a light bulb will suddenly switch on and that this is going to be resolved this season. I just hope our 4 incoming freshman guards are ready for immediate PT next year.
  3. 🤢🤮🤮
  4. Yes. Perplexing. Completely unacceptable, needless to say.
  5. +1 We’re really not very good. We wouldn’t win a single conference game without Freeman.
  6. 💯💯 Football is king.
  7. If you get busted "ice fishing" in Hudson, not having a fishing license will be the least of your worries.
  8. We were out of time outs so Groce had to let the guys have at it. He probably called a play from the sideline, Idk. But in the postgame interview he said it was a 2-man play w/ X & Ali. Ali set the pick for X & then floated out to the wing. Groce said X could have passed to Ali but chose to take the shot himself. In looking at the replay it looked like Santiago may have been in the passing lane to Ali, so it may have forced X into a very difficult... let's just say it... bad shot.
  9. Interesting. I've typed up 3 different reply posts to this but didn't post any of them because I'm so far from figuring this team out that I just don't know what to think. A month ago we were set on Wynn being an obvious transfer candidate, but he's been playing better lately, is one of only 2 true wing players we have (along with Ali) and Trimble's shooting's been ice cold & he's a liability on defense. I truly have no idea. Are we looking to bring Seny on? (I must reiterate that I only think that's who I saw at the game... but I'm pretty sure.) That would give us 4 post players in Freeman, Aziz, Kalle, and Seny - none of which seem to be stretch post players. I wish we were privy to some practice sessions or, better yet, scrimmages.
  10. Good grief, how could KD lose both Insincere and Lamar Norman Jr.? OUCH. Anyway, we beat these bums by one point at the JAR. We’re not a very good team this year. We’ve got hustlers who are over-achieving but not supremely talented. Save Freeman. He’s a true revelation. Just remarkable. We’d better get off to a fast start. I am WELL BEYOND tired of our slow starts. If WMU hangs around I think they’ll beat this physically and emotionally drained Zips team.
  11. I love all this stuff. These teams don’t like each other. These schools don’t like each other. These fan bases don’t like each other. I want both teams talking sh!t and playing rough. Not throwing punches like Singletary, but tip-toeing into dirty is fine by meThe Rowdies we’re AWESOME last night & then the KSUcks players let them know they just beat us at the end. The KSUcks players earned the right to do that & the Rowdies were forced to take it. That’s what makes epic rivalries. Let’s stop being church ladies (not you specifically @1981 grad, just everyone in general) This all adds to the fun and memories. Those AK Rowdies will never forget that and because of it will hate KSUcks and bleed blue & gold for the test of their lives. I’ve LOVED the Rowdies this season and the student turnout last night was phenomenal. Makes me VERY hopeful for future seasons.: we’re growing something. Toward the end of the game when Insincere was shooting two free throws (both of which he made, to his credit) I could hardly hear myself think! Outside of Cameron Indoor, that is the toughest student-led atmosphere you could hope for. Loved everything about it.
  12. He did. Just prior to tip off he did a really nice job getting the crowd pumped up. He mentioned bringing the Wagon Wheel back to Akron, that the crowd was great, had great energy and that we'd need that at the football games this Fall. Then he started a "Let's Go Zips," chant. He did a really nice job.
  13. I like it. Those Rowdies are never going to forget that & it, yet again, just more solidifies this as literally one of the best, most intense rivalries in the nation. Having said that, our offense is like pulling teeth.
  14. I think I saw Seny Ndiaye at tonight's game. He's a 6-11 center from WVU who's in the transfer portal. He's originally from Sengal but played his HS ball at Huntington Prep in WV.
  15. Which is infuriating. They did the same thing for 3 years with Zeke Marshall. Good job, MAC. Way to keep some of your best players on the bench. That's worth the price of admission. 🙄
  16. We're learning to play w/o relying on Bryan Trimble scorching the nets. I like it. If Bryan's on fire then great! Icing on the cake. But we don't go into games with that as our game plan & then commence to offensively pee down our legs if Trimble, as is more often the case than not, happens to be cold as ice. Kent ran us off the 3-point line last time & we didn't respond well. Playing inside out should, one would think, give us better looks from 3-land tonight. I think I'd start Dawson over Trimble tonight. He's a junk yard dog, won't get punked, is a better defender, better rebounder, and he'll keep you honest from the 3-point line. What's worse for Trimble's psyche? Being relegated to Instant Offense Microwave 6th Man, or getting yanked as soon as Groce sees he's cold? I think Microwave 6th Man is a cool role to play on a team. Wonder if Trimble's "teamism" is strong enough to allow him to do that?
  17. This is way before my time. Though I went to a couple games during the Coleman Crawford era, I'd have to begin with the Dan Hipsher era. Enrique is still building his Zips resume. Having said that, I'd have to go: 1. Jeremiah Wood 2. Romeo Travis 3. Demetrius Treadwell 4. Big Dog 5. Zeke Marshall (focussing on his excellent senior season. His freshman-through-junior years were awfully underwhelming) 6. Enrique Freeman As sophomores: 1. Enrique 2. Wood 3. Treadwell 4. Big Dog 5. Travis 6. Marshall
  18. Welcome @Beach83 Glad you're here & hope you keep posting! Go Zips!
