  5. Great decision to offer Chris Livingston an Akron Buchtel player. He is special. http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/chris-livingston
  6. My understanding is Kest will officially retire as of June 30 and due to budget reasons the interview process cannot begin until around mid June. This information could be wrong, but wanted to share what I heard.
  7. I just think the UA Board will not allow Williams to move on anything until Jodi Kest is off the books. There seems to be mutual interest.
  8. Terry Weigand is a great coach, great recruiter and loves the University of Akron. I think he is a wonderful candidate. This program deserves a talented coach like Terry Weigand. UA can't let this opportunity slip away. I heard about two or three weeks ago that Larry Williams will not begin interviewing until sometime after June 10.

  12. http://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men/article/2017-04-19/college-basketball-committee-discusses-new-start-date-season Future of the game The oversight committee also noted that some trends, including the flow and pace of the game as well as the balance between offense and defense, had improved in the past two years. Following the advisement of the new Division I Men’s Basketball Competition Committee, the oversight committee asked the NCAA Men’s Basketball Rules Committee to take the next six to 12 months to conduct a holistic review of potential significant rules changes, including a careful examination of unintended consequences that could result. The committees were asked to collect data during the 2017-18 season to determine if changes — such as widening the lane from its current 12-foot width, extending the 3-point line or changing the game from being played in two halves to four quarters — would benefit the sport and help the positive trends continue.

  14. Here are a few long shots... John Loyer - Former Zip, Coached with Huggins, former NBA Interim HC and now scout for LA Clippers Greg Paulus - Ohio St Asst. and former Duke Player born in Medina (30 years old) Scott Duncan - NBA Asst. and longtime college assistant coach Larry Shyatt - NBA Asst. and former Wyoming HC (65 years old) Shyatt and Duncan got Larry Nance, Jr. to go to Wyoming. We need a Pete Nance to elevate the program. Got to get the players. Steve McNees is the guy, but he is just probably too young to be considered.
  15. I heard they were planning on replacing to the lower bowl seats. This project might be in jeopardy after the high-pressure water line burst earlier this month. Robbing Peter to pay Paul.
  16. According to http://news.wp.missouristate.edu/2015/03/4-grizzlies-name-to-all-region-16-team/ Eubanks averaged 12.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game for the season. Against region opponents, he averaged 15.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.13 assists. “Craig is the perfect example of a blue collar player,” Grizzly Basketball Head Coach Yancey Walker said. “As a freshman, he had to play the four position for us at times. As a sophomore, he would have games where he led us in points and assists or in points and rebounds. He did it all for us and was a big part of our success. I am very proud of what he has accomplished.”
  17. According to his Twitter, BJ Gladden is transferring. Can anyone confirm or deny that Noah is transferring too?
  18. His contract of $243,477 per year ends September 8, 2015, according to: http://www.uakron.edu/bot/docs/personnel-reports/Personnel-transactions-December2013.pdf

  23. Someone should tell Shaka, what goes around comes around. I enjoyed his embarrassing loss after what he did to his "friend" KD.
  24. I had lunch at Polsky's on Tuesday, February 25, the day before we had a road game at Miami. In the 45 minutes that I was at Polsky's, I saw three students wearing Miami gear. As a whole our Students don't get it. In addition to students wearing other college gear, I always see students wearing their old high school jackets, shirts or sweatshirts. The students need to take pride in their/our university, which is easier said than done. Students need to be proud of who they are and what our great university is about. I know...it is a free country, but for their four(ish) years on campus, can't they open their eyes and embrace one of the true gems of Northeast Ohio? There are a lot of great student supporters and they deserve credit for working hard. But, how do we change the culture as a whole? That is Tom's job. Go Zips!
  25. I voted for Tree. I am a Tree Hugger.
