Have you noticed a decline in participation on Zips Nation? I think the lack of Ws raked up by the football team has a bunch of folks too disappointed to post and put others in a funk. Emblematic, consider an unidentified poster who was one of the most optimistic posters on Zips Nation before the football season started, now reduced to unprovoked attacks on University of Akron graduates. Hang in there; things will get better.

I'm not sure the Georgia Tech basketball coach was even at the game. I think his basketball duties kept him away from the game.

You are definitely a glass is half full individual. I can identify high level football talent so one would expect that a professional coach could do the same. Hopefully the staff didn't devote too many resources trying to attract a player who they "didn't stand much of a chance in landing."

The Baptists beat the Mormans by 27. Maybe we should have scheduled BYU instead of Liberty. And the stadium was packed with screaming racists cheering their team on.

I predict a low scoring win for the Zips. Neither kangaroos nor jack rabbits have exceptional shooting skills although I recall seeing one do some shooting in a Crocodile Dundee movie. I expect the Zips to control the paint because Kangaroos are bigger than jackrabbits and can jump higher. GO ZIPS.

Question: What are our transfer portal needs? Answer: We need at least one for every position; more if we can get them. -

I think we have to aim higher than becoming an FCS power. -

If you’re in control, they’re in control.” –Tom Landry “You have to perform at a consistently higher level than others. That’s the mark of a true professional.” –Joe Paterno “Football is like life. It requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication, and respect for authority.” –Vince Lombardi “Success isn’t measured by money or power or social rank. Success is measured by your discipline and inner peace.” –Mike Ditka “Self-praise is for losers. Be a winner. Stand for something. Keeping up with the Three D's (Dambrot, Dru & Duquesne)

Oh Oh, the A10 coaches poll which came out this morning has the Dukes in dead last. -
You have to factor in who was in charge at the time; they wouldn't have put up with his shenanigans at John Carrol.

It just occurred to me; if any of you guys are looking to secure an athletic scholarship, are a halfway decent golfer and are willing to identify as female, you should contact the athletic department of just about any MAC school. They can probably use you.

Re: another pet peeve of mine - has the NCAA shorted the distance that a player on the kick-off team can be off-sides before being flagged? I as watching a college football game last weekend when an official actually called off-sides on a kick-off; I was stunned.

Things aren't all that bad. SI has the Dukes finishing ahead of Fordham, St. Joes and La Salle -
I believe your observation about your offense scoring at a faster rate than your D gives up points will be true a very high percentage of the time regardless of the quality of your DBs. Obviously it may not be true all the time because your D could also score points via pick 6 interceptions and safties, but still a very high percentage of the time you are right on the money.

On October 10th and 11th, the Lady Linksters competed in the 11 team Rocket Classic played at the Catawba Island Club (Par 72 - 6118 Yards). Good news; the Akron squad finished in second place, 13 strokes behind Rutgers. Seven of the teams were from the MAC. Bad news; the amalgamation of teams participating in this event (every single team) put on a two day show (54 holes) of some of the worst golf imaginable. You can look it up for yourself at golfstat.com

In their first recruiting season I believe they actually sowed a hybrid grass crop; 50% Kentucky Blue, 50% Crab.
-
This thread can use a biblical reference. Ye shall reap the seeds you sow. I noticed at the time that the new staff was a lot more concerned with the offense (which didn't seem surprising given Joe's background). Hopefully they can even things out this recruiting season.

Watched the EMU/WMU game today. EMU is GOOD. They have an edge named Ramerez that we would have to triple team to keep him out of the backfield.

I suppose you could convince any number of people to sell you tickets to these games, but don't do it; it would be a waste of your money. These games have already been played.!.!.!.!.!.!
