  1. Accusing Jared of playing for ties is ridiculous. It's also not realistic to blame all of our ties on the other team parking the bus which wasn't always the issue.
  2. I'll explain my thumbs down / $0.02. The NCAA soccer season is compressed, as we all know, with teams often playing 3 games every 7 days. Consider the effect that an extra 140 minutes would have on the health of our players. How many more might have significant injuries? Personally, I think the NCAA eliminating regular season OT not only better aligns NCAA rules with FIFA rules but is in the best interest of the student-athletes. Of course, it doesn't matter at this point in 2023. Post-season games include OT as needed. As I recall, the current NCAA OT rules are: 2 OTs, 10 minutes each, no sudden victory. If still tied after the full 20 minutes OT, then PK shootout. Someone please correct me if that is not correct.
  3. Zips practice on turf. Cleveland State has turf (Zips prevailed 3-0). ... just sayin'
  4. Thanks for responding @72Roo. I understand your concern with Womens Soccer but I have to admit that I'm more concerned about an experienced and successful (elsewhere) D1 coach who seems to have had little effect in almost 2 seasons especially with as much support as has been provided than a potentially up and coming coach who is still finding her way. Best wishes to both for better results in 2024.
  5. @72Roo I'm curious as to how you feel the Zips Women's Soccer coaching situation differs from the Zips gridiron coaching situation? Applying your thoughts here, shouldn't JoMo should be doing better with the players he has? (Getting blown out by NIU and BGSU is not a good indication of good coaching.) JoMo certainly has significantly more help.
  6. Thanks @Reslife4Life for posting the post game interview. I wish more of our players would get their heads up and have more confidence in taking shots.
  7. Given the closer alignment with RPI in the past, I'm happy to see the committee give our team this respect and include us in the Top 16. Hopefully, we get a win tonight, and the week off between this match and the next allows for some additional recovery. Would be great to see the 2023 Zips get hot near the end of the season like the 2018 Zips and make a great run.
  8. Interesting. I'm surprised. lol I wonder what the bonus/penalty system is. https://www.ncaa.com/news/soccer-men/article/2023-10-20/5-takeaways-mens-college-soccer-season-top-16-rankings
  9. Revision: I will be surprised if the committee's rankings vary much from the NCAA's RPI rankings whether or not they are updated on the NCAA website at the time.
  10. No argument. Hopefully, the 2 late goals were psychologically helpful. 3-day turnaround for the next game v Marquette leaves little time to recover.
  11. That's your opinion with which I honestly disagree. Seth is a good GK but not better than Mitch, at least not yet (in my opinion). I'm comfortable with either and don't believe any of Creighton's goals could be attributed to poor GK play. If so, I'm sure Seth would have subbed into the game.
  12. 1-0 Creighton. 48'

  17. One would think you would be happy with the draw given your earlier post that this was likely to be a loss. Terrible, small field, turf, crappy center ref and an AR who barely did anything except hop along the sideline. I have to say that although I despise scoreless draws, I'm happy with the result given the conditions and shorthanded roster. Hopefully, Mitch Budler's injury was not too serious, and he will be able to return soon. However, I'm totally comfortable with Seth Wilson in goal.
  18. Being from West Chester, Ashton has a nice contingent of family and friends in the stands tonight. Happy to see him start.
  19. Kidding aside, it is an unpleasant drive to which I'm not looking forward. However, to me, it is well worth my time and expense to support our team in person when I can. Regardless of what some on this forum may think because my expectations are high, I happily support our players, coaches, and staff on the road as well as at home, when I can. My job has not afforded me the ability to be at all of the games that I would have loved to have attended this season, but this one and at Butler lend themselves to my attending in person, and I plan to be there. As others have posted, this will be a tough conference divisional road match. The BE schedulers did us no favors scheduling Xavier, Creighton, and Butler on the road in the same season. Hopefully key starters and subs are healthy and all are mentally ready for a tough battle tonight. Go Zips!!!
  20. Thanks for the reminder about the blocking feature. Reading this forum is so much nicer. 😊
