  1. I didn't know where I should post this, but wanted to share because it's a pretty good read. I put it here because it illustrates the state of CU football, but I probably could have stuck it in GP1's "When ADs Strike" thread as well.
  2. Trevahn can play. He looks fantastic at the Division IV high school level. We shall see how he pans out for Western. Good luck to him in Kalamazoo.
  3. I guess I never really took note of the copycat nature of the NFL in the draft, but I sure have seen teams copy offensive and defensive schemes a lot.
  4. Dave, did you laugh when you typed this? I laughed when I read it.
  5. I totally missed this one. Perhaps it was mentioned on another thread? Found one on ebay. I thought there would have been a lot of commentary surrounding this.
  6. He likes C.J. & C.J.
  7. Less than 100 days til kickoff. The rags hit the news stand this weekend. Camping World has been taking my money recently. The countdown is on people! Where will YOU be tailgating this fall? Eat 'em up!
  8. Get it done early Zips. Win here. Then we can all head over to Fricker's for the victory party.
  9. I bet they end it here.
  10. Awesome news. Go Zipes Go!
  11. Now, who can argue with that?
  12. How dare you! Check the stats , Mister!
  13. Welcome, BP99. Since you seem to have some familiarity with Nick, how quickly do you think he will adapt to the Zips spread offense? Thanks for the insight.
  14. I would watch a MAC game on ESPN every weeknight for the entire conference season and be happy with it as long as the Zips played all their home games on Saturday afternoons.
  15. This preview isn't too bad. Most of the facts are correct, which is more than you can say about most preseason previews. I think the nightmare and dream season scenarios are dead on...Nightmare: 0-12 Dream: 5-7 (Wagon Wheel win)
  16. No, I think this guy is coming in to try and earn a starting position at Akron. I highly doubt if Coach Bowden ever gives anyone any assurances beyond a fair shot to prove themselves. Nick is probably confident he can rise to the top of the depth chart and throw for a lot of yards here at Akron, ala DW13. I wish all the best to Nick and hope he can reach his full potential here. However, I think it will be hard for him to come in and have the kind of success Dalton had last year. Perhaps the Zips will catch lightning in a bottle again with a transfer QB, but the odds definitely have to be long on that. The number one thing I hope to see from Nick is the total team-player/leader/Zip4Life persona that Dalton showed us last year. The best man will start. I think we can all agree that Coach Bowden & Co. want to put the Zips in the best position possible to win some games this year. I certainly want the best players on the field for the Zips, but I gotta tell ya, I am rooting hard for Kyle Pohl.
  17. Can't see him winning the starting job, especially since Jawon Chisholm already proclaimed KP16 "The Truth".
  18. This is fantastic news. KP16 needs a capable backup.
  19. So Can't wants to spend $35 million to polish turds...
  20. First of all, let me just say that I have totally bought into the craft beer in a can trend. I wish all breweries would invest in a can line. I got these 2 after the Spring Game. I went to the new Winking Lizard/Lizardville in Montrose which was totally packed to the gills. So much better location than Ghent Road. I tried 3Beans first... WOW. Incredible. A Baltic Porter with 10% ABV & 85 IBUs. Smooth. Not boozy at all. If you like coffee beers, you have to try this one. Highly impressed! First beer I have tried from Sixpoint, but I definitely want to try more now. Next was the Secret Stache Stout from Finch's. It was an injustice to this beer to have to follow the the 3Beans. It was a sweet low-alcohol stout that was enjoyable, but I wish I could have waved my magic wand and had another 3Beans. I will have to try it again sometime by itself.
  21. Mike Slive comes out and just says it... Mike Slive Rattles Saber Over Player Stipends Slive: schools could discuss NCAA "division" over stipends
  22. My reflections... Kicking game has made large strides from the recent past. Linebacking corps looks solid and deep. I was a little puzzled with the DE/DT inside/outside swaps in the second half. Sure hope Pugs gets healthy. Sure hope Pohl stays healthy. Those Zippy cookies were pretty tasty. Looks like the food in lot 9 will be good as usual. JohnnyZip had another platter of peppers. So good. ZipGrad's steroid shrimp were a huge hit again, but I gotta tell ya...the apple pie his aunt made was as good as it gets. Definitely the treat of the day!
  23. Sure there are...freshmen that will be sophomores once school starts.
  24. Sometimes the first game of the season is before fall classes start. In those games, I guess there are no Seniors.
