Players get out of LOI's all the time for various reasons.

A lot of chatter here about using the transfer portal more to finish out the class and maybe it should have been utilized more in past years, and I don't necessarily disagree. Jake Spatival, who I would have liked to replace Bowden actually, has taken the total opposite approach. I sincerely hope some of those players are not on scholly. For some reason I thought we announced walk-ons last year as well on late signing day. If only we had a beat writer to provide some clarity.

This is a nice get and presumed scholarship player. Looks like he was committed to Liberty in October. Had at least 8 G5 offers at one point.

At most, I would guess 3, maybe 4 of the announced players so far today are actual scholarship players, but I could be completely wrong. There should still be room to add players that can help us right away, whether they sign today or not isn't that important IMO. Dontae Pollard from Penn Hills is interesting. Looking at his twitter, it seems like we got him as a PWO over WVU and Pitt's PWO offers. Maybe he thinks he has a better chance of earning a scholarship here eventually.

These 3 should all be scholarship players. Jalen Ross is new, and a local kid who had numerous offers to MAC schools in the 2020 class. I'd assume he didn't make grades, as he signed with Ashland out of HS per his twitter.

It’s simply an example, man. The fact is at one time he had multiple G5 offers, is ranked well, and could end up being their starter one day. Not bad for them if you ask me. I have no infatuation nor do I think we will be bringing in another QB.

I think there will be some surprises tomorrow. I wonder if they will announce the two MSU transfers as signees? I also wonder if any opt outs/ineligible players from last year count against this years counter (ex. Hooks still looks to be with the program per his Twitter). Toledo has our number tonight, but I like our chances vs them in the MAC tournament. They are thin and we have depth. They'd be exhausted in the MAC finals on their third game in as many days IMO.
