  1. Not really hearing a bunch of chatter, but I'm betting someone spends a mid round pick on him. I got round 4.
  2. I always enjoy watching and listening to Gruden, but every QB that guy brings in for his camps looks like the "best in the class". There is a lot of speculation around Cook not being liked by his teammates. Wasn't even voted as a captain. Not that that would have anything to do with how he would do as a pro, as it couldn't have affected him much in college. Seeing more of his sister might be worth using a draft pick alone
  3. The banners look kind of ugly and out of place, tbh.
  4. The Browns have made other good deals in years past. They didn't do much after that, though. I like Goff, and even though they aren't getting him, I believe in Hue's judgement. great track record with QBs. Trying to say they will mess up this year because they have in the past makes zero sense. Those people aren't here anymore. They have some guys in Berea now that I would bet on to succeed. I have a ton more confidence in them than any other regime.
  5. that's a reach.
  6. He knows so much about the program that Mrs. Dambrot had to come on here to correct him.
  7. Yes sir.
  8. Coach Bowden deserves all the credit, but I just want to point out that it's amazing what a winning culture brings.
  9. Agree. At first I was having trouble believing in the talk of Chapman's improvement, especially after all we heard last year, but those highlights changed my tune.
  10. I didn't see the game. Do you mean Van Edwards or did Means make the move to RB?
  11. I like how it was presented like Akron is somehow holding the cards on whether they want in or not.
  12. Agreed. Balsy. I'd throw Gladney in there as well, but if I'm looking at roster correctly, he looks to be 2nd string right now. Also looking forward to seeing our new young LBs in Bell and Gilbert. I'm even a little intrigued by Junius. Also want to see the OL as its a huge question mark. However, I'm actually quite disappointed as it looks I will have to miss it. Regardless, I expect some detailed analysis by you guys.
  13. I believe with the new rules, all eligible players can declare, and if they do not hire an agent, are permitted to retract the declaration by a certain deadline.
  14. Spring game roster/teams released. http://www.gozips.com/sports/fball/2016-17/files/2016_Spring_Game_Rosters.pdf
  15. There isn't much on the internet, but I can't find anything about him that says something other than Akron. Still, have seen no mention of him anywhere for Spring ball.
  16. Amazes me how all of the apologists' conveniently ignored this:
  17. Agreed. Quite encouraging if true. Also surprising is that he is being mentioned over Boxen, who I think will be a helluva player.
  18. Your post made me want to check out the spring roster. Couple surprising names there. One being Franshon Bickley.... http://www.gozips.com/sports/fball/2016-17/roster I did not see Krok on there and a few others rumored to be coming to Akron (I think the Massillon kid was another). Also looks like for the Freshman class that Council, Jordan, and Brown are early enrollees. Hopefully means good things for the OL.
  19. A little insight into who is manning the defensive backfield and offensive line. However, I must be missing something because I'm about 110% certain that Ritz isn't a freshman. http://www.ohio.com/sports/zips/university-of-akron-football-zips-defensive-backs-looking-to-be-more-physical-1.674061?localLinksEnabled=false&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  20. In be4 "Akron would beat Oklahoma" or "Akron would have made a tourney run!"
  21. Do you have a name for either of them? Also, "J" may want to change his twitter bio...
  22. Hot dang. Quite Odell Beckham-ish.
  23. If I settled down in Akron post-grad, it would have been the Valley I think. Obviously its all personal preference. The Valley, downtown, Highland Square, and Montrose area are all attractive for younger people.
  24. In recent years (Akron specific), I can only think of Chisholm getting a chance with Pitt. As for the Browns, seems illogical to judge the current regime based on past regime's actions. Jatavis has or will have a visit with them. Local talent that has played for the Browns right off the top of my head is Charlie Frye, Josh Cribbs, and Abe Elam.
  25. My sentiments regarding the law school echo what others above have said. There is an awesome dog park about 10 minutes from campus. http://www.doggoes.com/parks/ohio/bow-wow-beach-dog-park-silver-springs-park-stow I think the area is pretty awesome to live in. Low cost of living as you know. Not sure how great the market is for Law grads, however. You can drive an hour and do just about anything you can think of in the Akron/Canton/Cleveland area. Beaches, national parks, professional sports, hall of fames, museums, etc. I'm originally from a few hours away and glad I moved here.
