  2. For whoever asked earlier, UA was willing to pny up somehwere in the $329k-$379k range for a coach. How much is he really getting, I don't know.
  3. Like ZW, I did some research on Ianello and was pleasnatly surprised. Although he does not have the HC experience many were looking for, he has been around some good coaching staffs and good programs. And yes, many at ND were hoping he would be their next HC. Let's get behind him and the team, show them our support and see what happens. I know this, no new hire is ever going to be popular or the right choice for everyone.
  4. His background is not just ND. He was with Alvarez at Wisky. Is he our best possibility? Is he our worst possibility? Who knows? If he is the next HC we need to give him just as much love and we did when JD was hired.
  5. http://www.blueandgold.com/coaches/coach.cfm?coachid=139This was published when Rob was hired at ND.
  6. Looks like a match to me. He might not have HC experience, but he's been around a couple of decent programs, especially Wisky.
  7. This was just posted on Ohio.com 20 minutes ago.We shall see what happens!http://www.ohio.com/news/break_news/78896142.html
  8. If this rumor holds water, then the configuration could be similar to Rupp Arena & the Lexington Convention Center.
  9. And man does it cost. I couldn't wait to flee the 3% city income tax.Mayor Don has turned the City into such an unattractive place that the house my company bought off of me two and a half years ago still sits empty in one of the nicer neighborhoods on the west side.Good riddance. If that's the way you feel, we don't want you around here. Contrary to everything you have heard, based on the overall picture of more than 20 years as mayor, Don has done a good job.I would like to find someone with his dedication to coach our fb team.
  10. Parachial Schools strike again.
  11. That is totally an assinine comment. What do you thinks happens at other schools when they fire the head coach? Don't worry, we will have a coach in place in the very near future.
  12. great job marketing!!!!!!!!!!!! I was watching channel 5 news only to hear in the last 3 seconds, "oh yeah Akron is going to the final four in soccer good night everyone"Don't blame marketing. The media will do what ever they want to do. The Cleve. media would rather spend 5 minutes bemoaning another Clowns loss than acknowledging a local team going to the final 4 in soccer.
  13. Not to be a nay sayer, but right now we are one of the cupckaes in the MAC. Until we still winning and proving that we deserve the fame and glory we will continue on that road. Hopefully, a new coach will right the ship and have us heading in the right direction.
  14. Jerry Yeagley built a dynasty with IU soccer the same way Kehres has built a fb dynasty at Mount. Larry is very happy there and I know he has had many offers to coach elsewhere. Each coach needs to find there own niche. Some would rather coach or are only able to coach at a D3 program, while others are more suited to coach at hgher levels. That does not mean than coach at D3 school is less of a coach than the D1 coach.Whoever we get, let's just hope they can turn this program around and take it to a winning level.
  15. I hope there will a selection show party!
  16. I'm not sure I buy this argument. In fact, I've never really bought into the hysteria around JD's recruiting. It was a concern, but well down the list of problems. It doesn't jive with the current level of talent on the field. The assumption is there would be no talent on the field and that just isn't the case.JD's biggest problem is his inability to win with the talent on the field. The talent on the field is at least enough to win the MAC East. The kids that never made it to the field don't seem to have an impact on this.I hope the players keep their heads up. Help is on the way.....we hope.I know I'm opening a giant can of worms, but we heard the same thing about Lee Owens. That being said, I think it has gone deeper than just the talent on the field. The man has a difficult making decisions. Just think about our QB'earlier this season, our punters and our place kickers. I think JD has a tough time making that final decision.
  17. I've been a Zips fan for longer than you been breathing so I can honestly say that I'm not looking for negative and certainly not a loser. I thought Nicely played a hell of a game. But if you're going to quote statistics, at least quote them correctly.
  18. 1 small. Nicely threw 1 interception in the 2nd quarter.
  19. Hoo Ya. It is 8:10 ans Can't still sucks.
  20. It's 2:16 and Can't St. still sucks.
  21. Jake: You are one that is obsessed with the new arena being ON CAMPUS. While I would prefer a downtown location, BTW which is now part of the campus, contrary to your reasoning, I believe that whatever is the best locaction as determined by the powers that be would be the location that is most beneficial for all.
  22. So, STZ you are telling us that you are only a PT Zips fan. Win and I am in your corner, lose and I scoff at you. While the the rivalry game between the Zips and Flushes might seem meaningless to you, it will mean plenty to both teams and will be bragging rights for NE Ohio football. also, does this mean that for basketball that even both teams have had winng records that it is a rivalry, but if both teams are doomed in the MAC and have no chance of winning the MAC title and going on that the rivalry means less. I think not. I think that you need to rethink you stratedgy.
  23. All hail the mighty Jake. The smartest most knowledgable and most arrogant person on these boards LOL. The university and the city will do whatever they want to do. BTW, the city is working with the U of A on this project. I have spoken with a person in the city that is familar with all of the inner workings as far as sports and athletic evens are concerned and there are ongoing discussions taking place.
  24. That is true. But your not going to kick many players off of the team. You are going to remove the point man, which in this case is JD. Also, some of that lack of motivation & concentration can be directly related to the fact that the players see the writing on the wall for what is is worth, and have decided to just mail in the game.
  25. When you figure out what rivalries really mean let me know. Regardless of both teams records, anything could or should happen. BTW, Don't look now, but Can't is a in a very good position and has competed well in this league this year. It wouldplease me to no end to be able to be a spoiler and put a damper on teir seas. And for those that really care, and I still hope there are a few of us out there, it is Saturday at 7:55 PM and Can't State STILL SUCKS.
