Hey now, i take offense to that. The reason that many students/Rowdies were not there tonight was because most people were observing Halloween tonight. Whether it be (God forbid) going to Can't for it or just around Akron. That's why the crowd was small.

Now if only OU can beat Buffalo on Tuesday. Then we are alone in first place for real.

man if i would have known that i would have been there booing him myself.

Who won the Michigan game?

Id much rather be known for being a bunch of @$holes than being a bunch of pansiesand oh man can we be a$$holes sometimes -
Good points. We need large crowds at each home game because of the university and team's success, not just because of a grocer (with all due appreciation for their support). Having one sellout because of a well-sponsored community event, followed by poor attendance at the other games is not a good model for the future. Ideally though, every game should be well promoted and offer some type of extras for the kids, wives, grandparents etc. that are not strictly football diehards. Every game day should be a true festival and now that it will be on campus they could open up some of the other facilities like the student union and rec center for families to take advantage of before or after the game. I'm trying to imagine morning tailgating for a 1pm soccer match, followed by more tailgating for a 6pm football kickoff...it will be Acme-Zip times 3 !Oh man, that statement has got me more excited about the stadium than anything yet so far.

I must have missed the announcement that you were a "zipdiehard".Either way, I have read my own post considering I typed it. Yes he came back later, after he flopped and faked an injury. That is definitely grounds for booing. Maybe you and your son should join in on the booing and stop being such sticklers for good times.Sorry about that. My response wasn't to your post. Anyway, if you read my first post my point was how bad it appeared that a guy was booing an injured player. As I previously stated, I wasn't alone in thinking this, as some of the Rowdies around him were looking at him like "Is he really booing". Once again, it is all about appearances. I don't know if you look at them, but most MAC fansites bash us as the most obnoxious fans in the MAC. I personally think that is a joke, especially with the current crop of Rowdies we have. In the 25+ years I have been attending Zip's sports, this is by far the best student support I have seen. Booing for bad officiating or a player gesturing the crowd is justified, booing for an injury is not no matter how its spun. I think that your previous response about him booing something else was probably the case, but it didn't come off that way at that exact moment. There are plenty of threads on here where we bash other teams and their fans (see BG & BSU threads). Had this happened the other way around there would be a thread on here about what jerks the Michigan fans were. Someone more savvy with this website than I am can probably pull a previous one out.Well i guess i misunderstood what you were trying to say. Sorry about that, i agree though we are thought of as obnoxious fans. But in a way i take pride in that, it's way more fun to be hated then loved. Though i completely agree, it is not alright to cheer/heckle/boo an injured player. Luckily in this case, that was not happening and thank goodness the injured player was boo'd only because he was faking and nothing else. -
The thing is, these applications are made for an entire sport, with pages customized for individual teams. As far as I know, no one has created one for collegiate soccer.Yeah there are not even applications for college soccer or baseball yet. Personally i think they should just combine them all into a general Akron Zips Athletics application. Good news is we are 6th in the conference now (though only 93 in the nation) If you haven't added this yet, you are missing out on some quality Can't state bashing by the entire mac on this thing as well as an amazing amount of ball state vs akron hatred.2500+ people have already added, why dont you?Akron Football ApplicationAkron Basketball Application

Well if i remember correctly he DID pop right back up and he DID play the rest of the game so yes it was very justified. I wish i would have joined him and bood louder with him.You are the kind of person that gives the rest of the good Zips fans a bad name and makes us look like non diehards. As far as i saw the Zips never did it themselves and I hope we all boo other players when they fake injuries to get bias refs on their sides.GO ZIPS and Michigan sucks almost as bad as Cant -

Are you talking about the guy who bought them a penalty kick? If so, the only people who were out of line would be ones who didn't boo. Don't know why you would applaud someone taking a dive and nearly (Thanks Evan!)costing us the game. Anyway (surprise!) he somehow managed to get up off of his deathbed and return to action a few minutes later... unfortunately the theatrics are part of the game anymore.alot of us were booing this faker as well. Just because you pretend to be hurt doesn't make it deserving a call. -

ha, i was next to that guy. Actually he wasn't booing the guy being carried off the field, he was booing their player who was throwing some obscene gestures toward the sideline. He was booing that guy and pretty much everyone in that general area loved it because as the michigan player was trying to say something he just got drowned out by the booing. If you are talking about the injury in the second half that is. -
Tell you what, it was nice to listen to the end of that EMU game in the Fairlawn Wal Mart parking lot with a guy and his wife and an older couple outside their cars next to mine listening along with me to that great call.

I would have to say that from what we were shown on ESPN2, there is no way you could tell that it was not a catch. Though at first luck I said to myself "there is no way that was a catch". But they called it a catch and gave him the first down, and there was not proof that it was not from what i could see. I guess that would be what we wanted though

and we thought MAC refs were bad

im still shocked that they are defending this guy. It's a no doubter. He did it intentionally. -
to call OHIO University "OSU" is offensive to anyone from this state as well as anyone who is a member of the MAC. I have a lot more respect for the bobcats than the Suckeyes.Innocent mistake really. This thread was talking about OSU, and OU, and the 110, who's to know all of the band nicknames in the country except band people... Anyhow for you to get so angry is really nerd like and perpetuates a negative stereotype. Lighten up and don't be so insecure, I'm not a bandy, but I support what the bands contribute to gameday. Dick Suk... what were his parents thinking.if you think that is someone getting angry, then you haven't been on these boards for very long...His name is Richard Suk by the way and it's pronounced "Sook". But either way, i know nothing about bands, i just know college football and most people who know college football know a thing about the bands.

we dont have anyone else from what it sounds. And ive talked to Elliott a bit, it seems he just is having alot of trouble on shotgun snaps and nothing else. Obviously everyone would agree with that.

our red zone play calling has not been too bad according to the stats"Last year, Akron only scored 70 percent of the time in the red zone, scoring just 23 times with just 14 TDs. This year, Akron is scoring on 93 percent of its red zone chances with 25 scores and 15 red zone TDs."I know that's 10 times we've got a field goal instead of a touchdown but still, we have passed our TD total for redzone scoring from last year already and that's a damn good stat if you ask me considering it means we've been there ALOT.
