  1. Dang I was close...
  2. What I'm saying is: everyone in the MAC is beatable. With the exception of Ohio and BGSU, we SHOULD beat everyone thats left on our schedule: Buffalo, UMass, Ball St, Can't. Based on record alone, Ohio and BGSU should be a challenge, and we may win if we rise to the challenge.
  3. This is the most important game in our conference schedule IMO. We're coming into the game 2-0, 3-game winning streak. The rest of our conference slate (with the exception of BGSU) is winnable. Ball State took an unexpected step back this season, as did Buffalo (getting knocked off by EMU today, puts them in the category of beatable). UMass and Can't go without saying as well. Ohio has always played us hard, it this is our chance to establish ourselves as a MAC contender. Are we a contender, or are we just a mere pretender? We need to be able to play MAC games, on the road, and win. This Ohio team has given up quite a few big plays. They put up 500 yards on BGSU...that may be a problem. Go Zips! This is the exciting season I've been waiting for my entire Zips career! Enjoy the ride Zips fans, Enjoy the ride!
  4. Akronites are pathetic. 4-2 team within walking distance. Can't had an "attendance" of 12k. That's an 0-6 Can't. On a side note: I brought my dad to the game. It was his first Akron game and he really enjoyed it. Enjoyed it enough that he wants to come back! He did comment that the officials were absolutely terrible.
  5. I went to bathroom and frenchie reported that it appeared to be head, because Pohl came out of the locker room without pads, rode the bike on the sidelines for a few min, but then left for the locker room again.
  6. Nonsense. A lot of quantum mechanic riddles are in the realm infallible conjecture. Yes. Of course that's assuming that by sound you mean a pressure wave that is being translated by the brain into a biochemical response. Even if the biochemical responders are not present to translate those pressure waves, the pressure waves still exist.
  7. If the kid is more worried about the number of fans cheering, and not being a part of one of biggest turnarounds, one of the biggest from zero to hero stories in the history of college football, than sad day for him.
  8. This speaks for itself, and it deserves it's own thread.

  9. I'd rather have a meat grinder against Ohio.
  10. Agreed. Now I want the Zips to shut them out.
  11. What a ridiculously optimistic bunch over there. They sound just like us Didn't they go 0-12 last year? I'm sorry I find it laughable that some of them are saying "our defense will find it's way in this game"...more so than our defense? I just don't see it happening...but this is why we play the game.
  12. 13,451.
  13. Zippy ahead of Iowa State's mascot: 91-9. Make sure to keep up the pressure folks. We need to make sure Zippy gets to the top 8. Top 8 will move on to an elimination style tournament, and that's when our participation is even more important.
  14. Under for sure. I still like Akron +14...but I don't see 50.
  15. There's a good reason for that GP1:
  16. I was giving Whipple the benefit of the doubt...dear god what a bad call Whipple.
  17. Mark twain is the world's largest ***hole, so it's appropriate. But on that, I think people put too much stock into statistics without putting them into a proper context. It statistics, numbers and facts are not used in the proper context, they're useless. Without proper context, it's simply cherry-picking to support a narrative/agenda.
  18. For the Record: my last comment was more a perspective on why students would not want to go to games now, not necessarily why I would/would not go to a game. The results of Zips games are not already pre-decided, like the vast majority of Big-schools games seemingly are. Yup! I find games fun. I'm only pointing out why I think a lot of college people (who are my generation) would choose not to stay for an entire game, or to even go to a game. I will say though...the Howard game I did find myself a little disengaged...as I also did towards the end of the EMU game. Celebrating with other fans after the game is what added more fun to it! (Because we never get wins!) On a side note: The Cleveland Browns have not had a single blacked out game since coming back in 1999. That's WITH the FCC rules. I believe my comment was more directed at the bashing of the Cleveland Browns (not calling them a real NFL team) not about the cost. When it comes to the cost, I'd agree with you. $8 for a soda is ridiculous. Price of admission, however, the Cleveland Browns are one of the best NFL priced stadiums in the country. I'm just making an observation. And I don't see it changing. I'd go on a rant about Millennials...but I don't think it'd be addressing your point anymore.
  19. Perhaps my generation is getting wise to the scam? Why pay $$$ to watch a game at the university you already pay 20,000-30,000 a year to attend, to watch a 3+ hour (and when you take into consideration that you have to probably commit another 3 hours in pre-and-post game traffic and other stuff), uncompetitive game, where there is no alcohol sales (and where there is the price is 3x what you can get at the bar across the street), where the food and drink is at least as expensive as going to a sit-down restaurant (but the quality isn't as good)? Why deal with all that, when you can just as easily not deal with it and watch it on TV at the bar across the street?

  21. Alright folks. This was an awfully quite thread this past week. Zippy Won last week and is sitting at 4-2. Though initially wins are important here, there will be a tournament style where our voting will become that much more important. Keep up the pressure Zips fans! I wonder if we should try sabotaging a few of those above us if we're able to get a big enough lead?
  22. My friends and I went to the game Saturday, and though we're sad people don't attend, we're also happy. We're around people who care to watch a Zips FB game, and we have unlimited access to the bathroom, beer, other concessions etc. Couldn't be happier. Eventually, hopefully, other people will learn to appriciate Zips games the way that we do. Until then, enjoy the ride
  23. I agree that Miami is a dangerous team for us to play, but I wouldn't consider their "win" a win. They won that game because of a poor decision by a quarterback. On 1st and goal with three seconds on the clock, the QB decided to throw the ball instead of spiking it. Spiking the ball at the six gives the fieldgoal team the opportunity to put points on the board to win the game. That game was "won" because UMass was that stupid. That game was reminiscent of the Miami-Akron game a couple of years ago when Miami came to our house and beat us 56-49. Two of the worst teams in the MAC gunslingging it out, no defense. The comparison of Miami to the 2012 version of Akron is spot-on. However, Akron lost most of those games because it lacked depth and experience. We were able to put up points, but not able to hold onto leads. I don't see Miami beating Akron, and I throughly see Akron in control of this game from the get-go. Zips fans will be sitting at the edge of their seats, waiting for that busted play to happen and for Miami to take the lead, (but it will never come). Score will look closer than the game actually is. Akron 27 Miami 17 Kyle Pohl will not be replaced by Woodson in this game. Pohl will throw for 250+ yards, 2 TD.
  24. That's because Lebron doesn't care about the Zips.
