We aren't the only ones getting hurt by grad transfers, OU's Jaaron Simmons transferring to Michigan.

Michigan must have a pipeline to Athens to steal their players. LaVert... Simmons...

Stolen from the MAC CSNBBS board:

So, of the 15 players who were named to the All-MAC first, second, and third teams, only three players are returning. Am I missing someone else leaving?

All-MAC First Team
Isaiah Johnson, C, Akron, Senior
Marcus Keene, G, Central Michigan, Junior
Jimmy Hall, F, Kent State, Senior
Jaaron Simmons, G, Ohio, Junior
Thomas Wilder, G, Western Michigan, Junior

All-MAC Second Team
Kwan Cheatham Jr., F, Akron, Senior
Tayler Persons, G, Ball State, Sophomore
Blake Hamilton, Wing, Buffalo, Senior
James Thompson IV, F, Eastern Michigan, Sophomore
Steve Taylor Jr., F, Toledo, Senior

All-MAC Third Team
Franko House, F, Ball State, Senior
Braylon Rayson, G, Central Michigan, Senior
Marin Maric, C, Northern Illinois, Senior
Jon Williams, G, Toledo, Senior
Tucker Haymond, F, Western Michigan, Senior

That is bad! The MAC was already having a down year this past season, next year is looking pretty bleak.

Did I read Campbell from OU was trying to get another year of eligibility?

He has an appeal in with the NCAA for a sixth year, but even the OU fans that I have seen are not too hopeful of his chances.

Good. Path of least resistance. Keep that 21-win-season streak going! ;)

Just looking at the depth chart on verbal commits and wow, we are going to see pretty much a completely different team next year. And one that is super young. If I'm seeing things correctly, we are made up of mostly freshman and sophomores.

It's going to be a long summer waiting for this team to take the court. I don't remember the last time I was this interested in Zips basketball this early before the next season.

Antino is going to New Mexico per his Twitter

New Mexico...a team who hasn't made the tournament in the last few years and have a first year coach!

Does that sound familiar?

Good decision Tino!

minor correction, it would be for a 5th year, not a 6th.

side note: I find it amusing that Jaaron Simmons pulls a Dambrot and blames his conference for not achieving his goals while Tony Campbell is willing to postpone a pro career overseas (and possibly in the NBA) for a year for a chance to play one more time in the MAC.

It's not really that crazy. Another good year could put him on the radar. He wouldn't sniff the NBA right now

Yes, but he could go overseas, make some pretty good money, and still get on the NBA radar.

I'd like to see the number of players that make it to an NBA camp from Europe each year
