I'm never a fan when down milking the clock for a final shot. You should be looking for a high percentage shot. Banks was forced to put up a not so good look.

In the end we made some bone headed plays throughout that cost us the game. We had the ball stolen on us twice on an inbounds, we didn't rebound after that missed free throw, and we committed a foul to put Kent at the line when they had 10 seconds left on shot clock and back 80 feet away from the hoop.

Kent needed a bucket on the possession before and they took the ball to the basket.  It's easy to second guess, but we should have done the same.  Have LCJ take it inside and either get a shot or pass for a short range jumper.

Right now I think Reese is playing better than Riak.  On Kents last basket the Kent player just pushed Riak out of the way, got the rebound and made the basket.  Riak is just not strong enough to hold his position.

Lots of problems last few years on these last possession plays.  Also, 3 games 4 games in a row can make a stop.  Got to keep working.  Anyone's game in CLE and then a one and done in the Dance.

Why can't Riak ever hold onto the ball?

Worst hands I’ve ever seen. Never catches the ball with his hands; seem to always catch the ball with his wrists. Such poor hand-eye coordination I doubt he can even pick his nose.

Seems we can ID the weakest link.  I'm sure the coaches see it, too.  Not sure how they can fix it.  Huge liability for the tournament.  Not sure that Gueye kid would have been much better.

He had worse hands than DR.

looked at his stats at Tampa.  He's 44% from the FT line and scoring 5 points per game.

Speaking of FTs, Zips are not getting the advantage they should be getting from the line.  Buffalo who was lights out against us was 6 of 13 v BG tonight.  Kent a 70% shooting team was 80% tonight.

Zips get a week to re-group.  They get the worst team in the MAC a week from tomorrow and then then the following Tuesday the best team in the MAC.  Two home wins will get them back on track.

Great game.  Would have loved the win, but it's not the end of the world.  History tells us these are close games that the home team wins.  Get back to work today, finish strong, beat them at the JAR on March 6th and peel them in Cleveland if you get the opportunity.

The lack of a bench and poor 3 point shooting were our doom last night.  Ali only played a minute and had a turnover, Tribble had 2 turnovers and no points, and Sayles was out there 3 minutes.  I thought Williams looked a little tired toward the end of the game.  It is hard to believe that Ali was a starter at one point in the season.  Basically, this is a 7 man rotation with Reese being the only bench player that contributes any points.  We need better bench play if we are going to win in Cleveland.  Tribble does not seem to have any confidence and Ali looks lost while Sayles cannot play well enough to gain any significant minutes.  Groce needs to do something to get Tribble more involved.
