Didn't even know the Zips were playing today aha. Looks like LCJ & Freeman saved us from an embarrassing upset. It's early but I miss banks, cheese, and X. We'll get better with time; we're well coached under JG.

Definitely a bummer, but I agree for sure that it is better to have this game pushed back. Zips aren't very close to reaching any potential yet. Also, by my calculations, I've attended 34 consecutive games between Akron and Kent and unfortunately that's likely to change within the next couple of months due to attendance policies. What are everyone else's streaks? I know we've got the most die hard of die hards here.

I always travel to Kent and buy my seat early online and one year I found a second row seat center court.  I am wearing my Akron stuff and as I am going to my seat a Kent fan yelled at me that I could not sit there.  I waved my internet ticket and yelled back yes I can.  I sat down and did not think much of it until 2 minutes later a young usher came to me and told me he was sorry but he had to check my ticket.   I showed it to him and then he apologized and said they have some crazy fans.  I remember when Kent came to Akron I was looking for the guy so I could demand to see his ticket.  Unfortunately, never saw him again.

It seems like the bench guys from big name programs are playing like bench guys.  These guys better learn to play defense or they will be back on the bench no matter how much talent they had coming our of high school.  I have faith that Groce will get things turned around at some point in the season.

By all accounts, we are lucky we didn't end up getting Kent today. Nice to have the opportunity to learn from our mistakes and gel while still winning. Whose going to step up to help out LCJ? It shouldn't be on Freeman's shoulders. Wynn becoming eligible could be big if Trimble/Dailey continue to struggle. He seemed to fit in okay today on a few day's notice.

Find me some odds on Freeman for future POY and I'll put a few bucks on it! That would be quite a payout

When was the last time a Zip grabbed 21 rebounds? When  was the first time?

Yes I know, D2 and all that. He has been getting better every game. He has THREE MORE YEARS TO PLAY, that makes him equal to a freshman!

He just might be a superstar.

Not sure the last but he'd have to get to 24 to get into the top ten.

Top 10:

1.   28 Mel Kiser vs. Capital, 12-28-54

28 Ray Pryear vs. DePauw, 12-30-58

3.   27 Elton Landahl vs. Denison, 2-23-55

      27 Bill Turner vs. Baldwin-Wallace, 12-1-64

5.   25 Fred Golding vs. Mt. Union, 12-10-55

25 Elton Landahl vs. Heidelberg, 2-26-55

25 Roger Johnson vs. Ill. Wesleyan, 1-4-69

8.   24 Ray Pryear vs. Baldwin-Wallace, 2-25-59

24 Fred Golding vs. Denison, 2-13-57

24 Greg Parham vs. St. Joseph’s (Ind.), 3-8-75

D2 would have been a step up for some of those opponents. My point remains. He is basically a freshman.

Also, Tribble did not dress today. Not sure what is going on there, his slashing abilities would have been a big help today.

Trimble had 7 points 2 assists in 23 minutes in street clothes?

There are a Trimble and Tribble? On the same team?

I look forward to seeing what another season in the weight program could do for him.
