Evansville has made noise in the notorious MVC. Fordham brings in the A10, with Rice bringing in the CUSA. Vermont is a perennial NCAA Tournament team. The only noise coming out of Evansville lately is groaning from their fans. Their overall record in the last three seasons has been: 2020-21: 9-16 including a signature loss to Prairie View, 2019-20: 9-23 including 0-18 in conference, and 2018-19: 11-21. Fordham is the doormat of the A10 with 11 conference wins over the last 4 seasons. Rice is no powerhouse; over the last 3 seasons they have lost 6 more games than they have won. Vermont has enjoyed some success in the America East Conference which was rated the 22nd best conference in the country at the end of last season by Jeff Sagarin. 1 Quote

So I think this is an excellent tournament that will allow Groce and crew to evaluate where the team is with Mid Majors. I won't be going to Florida for this, but I will be in the JAR for the big game in November against Malone or Coppin State. Quote

VCU... Oklahoma St.... etc.). I think this is they type of tourney Groce and the team need at this point. There were a lot of moving parts in the offseason, including the expected departure of LCJ. The same thing happened before last year, and the team never had the chance to really figure themselves out early on. This is their opportunity to do that this season. 3 Quote
