Not at all different. A company local to Akron should be proud to support the Akron-based DI school. 1 Quote

Wyoming as a state has a population that is similar to Summit County. Even if someone like Goodyear steps in and gives Akron $500K-$1M, I'm expect programs like VCU, Saint Louis, and Loyola Chicago to get something closer to $1.5M+. Just widens the gap between the haves and have nots. Quote

Blue & Gold Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 Idea: teams/players should have to sign two-year contracts. If this included the redshirt year this would still give the athlete an opportunity to transfer two times in his/her career if they would so choose. Sound fair? 4 Quote
Let'sGoZips94 Posted April 28 Report Posted April 28 There will be a lawsuit to make this retroactive for the latest crop of applicable individuals, but otherwise, this should stand. Good move by the NCAA. 1 Quote
roopride Posted April 28 Report Posted April 28 Can a player play 5 years? Or is it a 5 yr window to play 4? Quote
Blue & Gold Posted April 28 Report Posted April 28 So no more redshirting? The player is allowed to play 5 years? Quote

Players have 5 years to play 5 years of college ball from the time they graduate high school or the time they turn 19 - whichever comes first. No more redshirts (which is a good thing). MDZip Posted April 28 Report Posted April 28 NCAA tournament to go to 76 teams. All the 16 seeds and half of the 15 will play in the opening round. Just another excuse to shove the automatic qualifiers down further so they can shove a few more P4 teams in. I hate college sports more everyday. 10 Quote

Let'sGoZips94 Posted April 30 Report Posted April 30 This is where we're at in college athletics. The Big 12 will likely die as a result of this. Quote
MDZip Posted April 30 Report Posted April 30 Last year was likely the highest seed the Zips will ever see. Others like McNeese and Akron, who were No. 12 seeds as automatic qualifiers, would likely have been pushed down to the No. 13 seed line to make room for eight additional at-large teams. Quote
ZippyRulz Posted April 30 Report Posted April 30 Were there 8 omitted teams ranked higher than us? Even if not, I would expect additional P5's to be given preferential seeding in the future. Quote

Let AI decide who gets in after that. Watching AI decide will be about as exciting as watching the P4 tournaments. 1 Quote
