In this transfer portal era of college basketball, how great was it seeing three guys recruited out of high school to Akron and developed by the staff make the winning plays. Tavari with the D, Amani with the rebound and outlet and Nate with the bucket!

Amani’s rebound was so huge, here is why. He boxed out Woolfolk and still had him climbing up his back. If Amani loses the handle on the ball, maybe the MAC refs call the over the back foul. Maybe not. Say Amani goes to the other end and hits both free throws and we are now up by 2 points. Miami would still have had 8 seconds to tie or win it with the last possession. The final seconds could not have played out any better.

For all the degenerate gamblers out there, this is exactly why you place a bet, and walk away from it. Make your pick at the beginning of the game and walk away.

I hate seeing these probability charts on this board every since somebody quoted them with 4 minutes left in the UCLA game that we had a 95% probability of winning our first tournament game.  And how did that turn out.

No, a real degenerate (like myself) doubles down when the live line gets to Akron+8.5

I really hope the MAC has a serious conversation with ESPN. If there are too many conference championship games happening simultaneously then we should consider our options. The biggest game of the MAC season and ESPN is bouncing us around for most of the first half. I find it to be unacceptable.

I get what you're saying but getting an ESPN2 slot at 7:30 on championship Saturday has always seemed like a steal for the MAC

Especially when you consider many of the other mid major conferences are playing their championship games on Thursday or Friday.

Miami Board for those who want to immerse themselves in wine & cheese tears. Their sweaters are drenched.

They can whine all they want about the refs, but how about the fact that Miami scored 0 baskets the last 5 and a half minutes of the game (only two free throws).

The key to this game was Akron's aggressiveness in the first half to get the 2nd foul on Suder in the 1st half. He sat the final 7 minutes of the 1st half and although it didn't quite cool him off in the 2nd half, Miami really missed his offense to finish the 1st half. Imagine 7 more minutes of Suder that game; we most likely wouldn't have had a chance at a comeback.

Great observation.

Rewatching the game is so much easier when your heart isn’t in your throat. Not only did Miami pop us in the mouth, they kept us at arms length for so long with timely shots. It’s incredible how our guys like a team full of Michael Myers kept coming back, again and again, refusing to die. I would say this to Miami fans, if you think the MAC officiating is inconsistent and maddening, I completely agree. But this game was equally frustrating on our side. The replay only confirmed that for me. I just wish the MAC would not reward flopping like they do. There is something called play-on. Use it.

The MAC suits are soft, and their officiating reflects that. It's embarrassing and has been for a very long time. They have zero self respect.

I read the comments on the Miami Board and was surprised about 2 things.  How they complained about the refs and how many F bombs were on that board.  It just showed me how our administrators do a great job in keeping this board civil.

I like your boxing analogy.

John Madden once said, "The champion is the champion until he's no longer the champion, and that's what makes him the champion".  Man, did that apply to yesterday.

Want our title? You had better rip it out of our hands.

We're actually on top if you factor in no. of years in the league.

Oats and Groce have had the most impressive runs as coaches in the MAC. Really hoping Groce finds Akron to be the place he wants to be until he retires.

Of those 16 MAC tournaments, how many have found Akron in the Finals? 12 or 13?
