Game #11 - Can't State

[1981 grad]

This is one of the better Akron Kent game with different ebbs and flows.  Not sure what our defensive back was doing on that Kent touchdown watching the QB and letting his man run past him.  Akron has 2 mistakes leading to 2 Kent touchdowns.   Our running game has been strong with some really long third down gains.  Need a touchdown to open the half.  Finley has thrown some nice balls.

Considering Kent has points off of a turnover and a big play for a score, Akron did well and should be in the lead at halftime.

Have never seen a more obvious DPI ever. That's just insane that nobody threw a flag there. Cost the Zips a TD.

Twice now they've been deep in Kent State territory and settled for a FG attempt. Just gutless football.

My prediction is that we get called for pass interference on a play that was not that egregious.

We can blame officiating all we want but there's no excuse for this game to even be close right now. Moorhead has been overly conservative. Finley throwing dangerous pass after dangerous pass. Stupid mistakes. Just embarrassing.

That no call on the obvious pass interference and then the missed field goal just changed the momentum of the game.  However, the Zips have dominated and can come back.  Turnovers have really helped Kent.

Unforced errors and erroneous missed calls are all Kent has going for them. 

 

Just on cue Finley fumbles again. 

 

This is inexcusable and how you lose to awful teams.
