clarkwgriswold Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 The Princeton Tigers visit the JAR this Saturday to start their season. The Tigers were favored to win the Ivy League last year but fell far short of expectations resulting in many roster and coaching staff changes. Usually picked in the preseason to be at the top of the Ivy League, this year's preseason poll picked them to come in 4th. As you may recall, the Zips got hosed at Princeton last season after it took the officials seven minutes to reverse their call and give the Tigers a 3 pointer to win the game rather than the two pointer called on the floor. Here are some articles with previews for the Tigers- https://www.dailyprincetonian.com/article/2025/08/princeton-sports-news-mens-basketball-summer-review-2025-season-preview https://www.midmajormadness.com/ivy-league/31297/2025-26-ivy-league-preview Quote

ZipsBBjunkie Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 We need a Revenge Tour graphic … this could be the OOC result we’ve been waiting for that sets them up for a better seed 3 Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted November 7 Author Report Posted November 7 It's tough to get a feel for Princeton given all of the movement in the program in the off-season and the fact that this game will be their opener. I sure hope the fans show up for this one. We don't get that many solid mid-majors in here so we need to show up when we get one. Quote

From the articles you shared it sounds like the program is in a rebuilding year. Their top player transferred to Florida and their second best player is sitting out this season. They're going to be relying on a lot of players who are either incoming or only played ~10 minutes/game last year. Quote

Let'sGoZips94 Posted November 7 Report Posted November 7 This will be Princeton's first game of the season. Advantage Akron and hopefully we'll be 2.5-0 going into our matchup vs. Purdue next Sunday. Quote

On my part, I don't remember attending any noon games in person. Maybe watched a few on TV from home. Edited November 8 by ewbrooman1 1 Quote

I’ll be doing my part bringing one more person than usual with me, might be a sell out because of me 1 1 Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted November 8 Author Report Posted November 8 I'm out of town today. While you are all enjoying the game, I'll be chasing around a group of 5 year olds. Make sure to make up for my absence and please post a lot of updates. 2 Quote

Let'sGoZips94 Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 (edited) Lyles is setting himself up for a long European career. Big Stank is way more active this game. Love to see it. Princeton needs the 3 ball. Limit that, and Akron should win going away. Edited November 8 by Let'sGoZips94 1 Quote
Let'sGoZips94 Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 (edited) Evan doesn't have a shot, but he has an offensive game. He can dribble drive with the best of them and that's going to be worth a lot of points this season. 28-13 Zips. 9 to go in 1H. Edited November 8 by Let'sGoZips94 1 Quote

Illini Zip Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 It’s a shame we had to play Amani right away. With a redshirt year he would be a Junior today. 😔 Quote
