Game 2- Princeton

The Princeton Tigers visit the JAR this Saturday to start their season.  The Tigers were favored to win the Ivy League last year but fell far short of expectations resulting in many roster and coaching staff changes.  Usually picked in the preseason to be at the top of the Ivy League, this year's preseason poll picked them to come in 4th.  As you may recall, the Zips got hosed at Princeton last season after it took the officials seven minutes to reverse their call and give the Tigers a 3 pointer to win the game rather than the two pointer called on the floor.

It's tough to get a feel for Princeton given all of the movement in the program in the off-season and the fact that this game will be their opener.  I sure hope the fans show up for this one.  We don't get that many solid mid-majors in here so we need to show up when we get one.

From the articles you shared it sounds like the program is in a rebuilding year. Their top player transferred to Florida and their second best player is sitting out this season. They're going to be relying on a lot of players who are either incoming or only played ~10 minutes/game last year.

This will be Princeton's first game of the season. Advantage Akron and hopefully we'll be 2.5-0 going into our matchup vs. Purdue next Sunday.

I watched so much Saturday afternoon college basketball as a kid that this just feels right.

On my part, I don't remember attending any noon games in person. Maybe watched a few on TV from home.

Princeton needs the 3 ball. Limit that, and Akron should win going away.

Evan doesn't have a shot, but he has an offensive game. He can dribble drive with the best of them and that's going to be worth a lot of points this season.
