clarkwgriswold Posted January 10 Report Posted January 10 Ball State comes to the JAR Tuesday night to face the Zips. The Cardinals stand at 4-11 headed into Saturday’s game at UMASS. The Cardinals have the lowest scoring offense in the MAC, scoring 67.2 ppg. However, they give up the lowest point on average at 69.2 ppg. Safe to say, they slow things down. 6’2” sophomore guard Davion Hill leads scoring at 10.9 ppg. 6’4” junior guard Armoni Ziegler scored 10.2 ppg while contributing 4.8 rpg. 2 Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted January 10 Author Report Posted January 10 Mike Lewis got off to such a great start when he showed up at Ball State 3 or 4 years ago. I really thought he was going to build something and be consistently competitive in the MAC. Since a great first year it's really gone downhill. 1 Quote
Zips1991 Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 Obviously we need to get wins in these next two games (Ball State and WMU) as these games are followed by probably the toughest four-game stretch in our conference schedule (away at Buffalo and Ohio, then home against Toledo and Can't). 2 Quote

Zips1991 Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 Akron is favored by 20.5 points with an O/U of 154.5...maybe Vegas is starting to catch on to our lower scoring games. Quote

Ball State gives up the fewest points per game (67.4) in the MAC while surrendering the fewest (69.8). I think it has primarily to do with those numbers. Quote
NWAkron Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 (edited) Their defense will travel. Edited January 13 by NWAkron Quote

blueandgold Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 I see that everyone is really excited about this game tonight. Lol Quote
csims0917 Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 Students return tonight! Lots of student promos going into the game. Hopefully they can get people to show up Quote
NWAkron Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 This is Primetime MAC basketball, folks. Excitement is building!! Two sons of Indiana fighting it out. Quote
kreed5120 Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 (edited) Ball State board doesn't seem all that interested in this game either. Game thread was just created an hour ago and nobody besides OP has left a comment. Edit: There was a separate thread created yesterday titled "Can this game just be cancelled?" It was about the round 2 game against the Sun Belt. I clicked on it thinking it was about the Akron game thread. One of Ball State posters commented that he thought it was about the Akron game. It gave me a good chuckle reading. Edited January 13 by kreed5120 2 Quote

Reslife4Life Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 Also it looks like chabi doesn’t have a cast any more, looks to be more of a splint 1 Quote
ewbrooman1 Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 (edited) Apparently nobody told the team tonight is supposed to be a a Gold Rush. Or most of the fans. 🙄 Edited January 14 by ewbrooman1 Quote
Reslife4Life Posted January 14 Report Posted January 14 Lewis doesn’t wear a suit anymore I guess Quote
ZZZips Posted January 14 Report Posted January 14 #3 on the trainers table. Knee or ankle? Pray for a quick cure. Quote
MDZip Posted January 14 Report Posted January 14 Glad they're hitting a lot of three-pointers. Would have preferred they saved it for someone else instead of Ball State. 🙂 Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted January 14 Author Report Posted January 14 The next time I gripe about the Zips perimeter defense remind me of Ball State's. 1 Quote
Reslife4Life Posted January 14 Report Posted January 14 That was the first time I’ve seen groce actually turn down his players request to challenge an out of bounds call Quote
Reslife4Life Posted January 14 Report Posted January 14 Whether intentional or not, good execution of the 2 for 1 at the end of the half Quote
Reslife4Life Posted January 14 Report Posted January 14 I would say that today’s game of basketball with too many 3s has had a bad influence on youth basketball. But these kids at halftime are launching threes and coming closer than I would on most shots Quote
