  1. Past hour
  2. Evansville down by 10 to Charleston at the beginning of the 2nd half. It looks like we were in the weaker of the two sides of the bracket. We'd better be ready to bring our A game tonight.
  3. I will be thrilled if it's only 5 guys. Younger Mahaffey is going to draw attention if he keeps this play up.
  4. No Monique Mitchell? Anyone know what’s going on there?
  5. I said the same thing about Freeman. This is only Halligan’s sophomore year and we lose five of that 10 man rotation after this year. So there could be a role for him going forward. We do need to maintain cohesion. Not making a prediction, but his size and skills say a physical guard is possible to me anyway.
  6. I don't expect anything lol. We're just debating the role of a walk on 10-11 guy in the rotation, and my point is I don't think there really is one
  7. You're talking about our 10th guy in the rotation when other teams only run 8, maybe 9 deep. If he's giving ~5 minutes of hustle and solid defense to give the main contributors a breather in our fast pace style of play that's plenty. Especially in a tournament where you're playing 3 games in 4 days. I'm not sure what more you're expecting.
  8. Unacceptable!! I guess we will just have to win big enough tonight to get it back.
  9. Today
  10. That's pathetic by that voter.
  11. Akron down to 56 in KenPom with today's results thus far. The sky is falling.
  12. Rewatched the Evansville game and here’s a random observation. Barre, for a guy his size has a nice touch at the free throw line.
  13. Yeah I dunno, finding another walk-on contributor would be great. I think he's a clear tier below any of the scholarship players. He hustles and plays good defense. His weakness is scoring. He has 4 points in his last 30 minutes and is shooting 16.7% from 3 on the year
  14. Oregon State was Iona's Super Bowl as they lose to Green Bay 80-75.
  15. He has been in multiple games prior to the standard clean up duty moments. Yesterday, they subbed him in multiple times in the first half. I posted earlier in this thread that his weakness(es) being unknown are more impressive because that means he's not an obvious negative when he's on the court.
  16. excerpt from yesterday's press conference..... but the tweet message....is strong...... zips need 2,500 plus in the stands on Sunday
  17. Dru's squad really struggled Saturday at SVSM, losing to a Northeastern team that was not nearly as talented.
  18. Nice story featured on ESPN.com: https://www.espn.com/gaming/story/_/id/47055178/dru-joyce-lebron-james-duquesne-akron
  19. I thought the same, but Groce has hinted at a larger role for him during radio interviews. And he played during the course of the game yesterday. Not just at the very end.
  20. Well nothing against Halligan, but we've got a very deep roster of scholarship players so his role will mostly be clean up duty
  21. Remember 1986!!! Current Duke coach John Kerr was the star of that team. I think he scored the lone goal in the final. Another prominent player on that 1986 Duke championship squad was Ken Lolla.
  22. Halligan's contribution is that he's a good defender, works hard and doesn't hurt you when he's on the floor with turnovers and bad shots. He's Marvin but on the perimeter.
  23. Halligan is a walk on right?
  24. The answer to the 2004 clue is "When was the last time Eddie George played a down in the NFL?"
  25. This was a really good question and it stuck with me because I didn’t have the obvious answer. I once suggested he might be the next Hardman, but I hope we use one of the open scholarships to bring in another sharp shooter. My best guess is Halligan is still a work in progress, but could fill the role of strong, big-bodied guard. Think Mikal Dawson or Isaiah Gray.
  26. All the more reason to smash Duke and send them back to Durham with their butts hurt. That and 1986.
