  1. Past hour
  2. 2 teams in the finals in the same day to boot. For what is considered to be the class of the MAC athletically, really poor showing from the Rocket faithful. Probably says more about their confidence in Kowalchoke than anything.
  3. Definitely felt like an 80/20 fan split. Honestly surprised Toledo didn’t have more fans there.
  4. Travis Steele can’t go to Cincinnati, he’s too busy drawing up plans for a new arena.
  5. 11,072 announced attendance. One of the largest crowds I can recall for a MAC Tourney Final, and ~9000 of those had to be Zips fans.
  6. Utah Valley paid $1 million to compete in the conference tournament as well. They were originally not going to be able to participate as they never paid their exit fee for leaving the Big West.
  7. It's because according to NET we should have won by something similar to what the game spread was. Winning by 3 in metrics eyes was us underachieving. If we won by 10+ we would have improved. Margin of victory is heavily weighted in these predictive metrics.
  8. The play in games are typically 11 seeds, but they can and have been 12 seed games before. What impacts that is the number of AQs the committee feels is above vs below the bubble line.
  9. Imagine missing the tourney this way. It's almost as bad as intentionally fouling up 1 with a few seconds left.
  10. I love how we win not only another game, but a conference championship no less and we lose one spot in the NET.
  11. The only reason Miami OH is anything higher than a 12 is because Dayton's play-in games are only 11 seeds. Would be wild, though, if the MAC not only gets 2 bids but also 2 11 seeds.
  12. Cincinnati is in a tough spot if these are their choices. Calhoun makes sense, but is Cincinnati that much better of an opportunity than his current job and could be do better. At 44, he needs to do better quickly before he turns 50. Groce is 54. If I was an AD at a school like Cincy, I don't think I'd be looking for someone in his mid 50s. The older you get, the faster you get old. The guy from Miami makes the most sense. Young guy. Good energy. Undefeated regular season. Plays an exciting style for the fans to get behind.
  13. 5. And his team is burdened by a head coach that gets caught watching the game instead of coaching it when the pressure is on.
  14. The irony after calling his team last year "unlikeable."
  15. So if we’re a 12, 75% chance we’re out west (Portland or San Diego), and then Tampa as ZippyRulz posted. If for some reason we sneak to an 11 seed, we’d be looking at Buffalo or OK city. No clue who we’re supposed to be rooting for today. st John’s beat UCONN by 20 last night, so hoping they end up higher than a 5 seed. its interesting..the only thing Miami has going for them is their record (and I guess a 3 point win over us), but the metrics say we’re the better team. The committee has obviously leaned heavily on metrics in the past, but seems like it won’t matter in terms of seeding for us against them.
  16. 123 all for one 456 Family 789 Community/alumni NEED TO SUPPORT THIS COACH AND PROGRAM!!!!!
  17. I give Kowalchoke credit for always being able to find players and put together talented teams, but listened to his post game presser and he just seems like such an unlikable person.
  18. Today
  19. $30 for the shirts from Rally House. I paid $45 last night at the Arena. But at least I don't have to wait for shipping 🙃
  20. Seems to be another flaw with his coaching then. They didn't really have an answer for Lyles in the 2nd half when he started playing closer to the rim. I would have to imagine Simmons at least would have held Lyles to fewer than 16 rebounds.
  21. I don't think he wanted to retain Simmons based his comments about last year's team. Until Steele signs the extension offer, I refuse to believe Miami OH will sustain this success. 400+ wins in his career and 0 NCAA Tourneys. He's the problem.
  22. That's the tweet I was referring to! I just couldn't find it again 😆
