Zips will get number six seed Western Michigan tomorrow. WMU let Northern Illinois tie it in the bottom of the 7th and then scored five times in the first extra inning to win it.

@catdaddyp we really do appreciate your taking the time and effort to provide these kinds of detailed updates. Makes it feel like we're a bigger program than we are. 😊

Gave up four home runs in the game and yet were still able to to pull out the win. Great job. Tomorrow at noon against the winner of Western Michigan and Northern Illinois. Western currently up 2-0 in the 4th.

Wish UA sold jerseys..... Even if that's fake it looks pretty good.
-
Zips SB beat Ohio on a walk of in the 7th. Need 2 more wins!
-
Came across this on ebay and bought immediately. Probably fake but I'll always have it to remember his game winner!
-
Zips win their first game of the tournament on a walk off Sac Fly. Now into the semifinals which I believe are tomorrow.

He was uncoachable. They gave him plenty of rope at the beginning of the season.
-
I thought he was gonna end up at Duke from what I was reading on here

Fair enough about the roster turnover and coach turnover. Those issues are much more prevalent today compared to 5-10+ years ago.
-
I think this is pretty common. It's probably a timing thing. Like most schools, Akron probably uses a marketing company to develop campaigns and having one ready directly after the season probably isn't enough time. In addition, it's hard to know who you are going to market if the coach leaves and half of the players.
-
If he couldn't find his way into the rotation at Akron I can't see any P5 school having interest. Maybe he joins Brisco at Rider. That seems more his level.
-
I wonder where Oggie will land. Would have loved if Ford had kept him and improve his game. He displayed moments of greatness. Power 5s must be looking at him.

Winner of CMU/Ohio plays Akron tomorrow. They're on espn+ right now

I was more meaning season game packages, not single game tickets. Most people aren't going to be able to attend all 13-15 home games anyway. You really don't need to in order to get your money's worth. Football is much different. There are only 5 home games most years so having conflicts for 2 of them would be like 40% of the games. That's less of a problem for basketball.
-
How can you sell GA tickets without knowing the schedule though? I definitely understand what you're saying, I just think they're limited in what they can do.
-
Yes, I put a deposit as well. Deposits just feel different than actual tickets. I'm sure much of the delay is sorting through priority to determine which premium seats are and are not available. I still think it wouldn't be a bad to at least open up general admission sales. Let people know how affordable tickets really are.
-
I just locked in my seats the other day. I believe deposits were available the day after we won the MAC.

I always found it weird how Akron handles ticketing. For example, to me it would have made sense to start selling season tickets to mens basketball immediately after they won the MAC Tournament. Capitalize off the excitement. Perhaps some of those fans who went to the games in Cleveland had a memorable experience and would be open to season tickets with that excitement fresh in their minds. By the time it gets to July or August and tickets do go on sale people will be thinking of getting their kids ready for back to school and will be engulfed with football too much to care about basketball.

Wake Forest single game sales started today. One other thing. Do NOT buy tickets on the Akron side. The game will start in the early evening when the sun stays out longer. The seats are black and get sun all day. It is brutally hot on the visitors side. I sit in section 6. Even high up seats are a very good view. Edit: Further warning about the heat. If you look up a map of Wake parking options, there is a place called "Construction Zone" which traded large parts of the Blue and Orange lots for a mixed use development. This change has left fans with few options that include shade. It's going to be really hot on the asphalt parking lots. If you want any chance at shade and want to buy a parking pass, what's left of the Blue and Orange lots offer some shade. If you don't do well in the heat, go have dinner and drinks somewhere before going to the game. There is very little traffic so don't worry about spending a long time in traffic.
