  1. Past hour
  2. Personally, I think any day is allowable to say F Kent
  3. I had the pleasure of speaking with Evan and Eric at the tip-off reception and could not have been more impressed. They are both personable, mature and friendly.
  4. Aren't there at least three days per year for that (one for football and at least two for basketball)?
  5. Both these guys are fantastic. Evan is the prototype for me as a representative of Akron Basketball (and we’ve had alot of good ones). Smart, charismatic, funny, spiritual, family/teammate oriented… and the dude loves country music and Major League?! Come on. Especially right before the Kent game and their decades-long history of thugs and idiots. And I don’t know who the interviewer is, but I’ve watched a couple of his across multiple sports and he’s GREAT. Well prepared but not stiff, asks great follow-ups, and puts the athletes at ease. Great content… keep it up UA.
  6. Today is the day. The only day of the year that my 12 year old is allowed to say the f word. F Kent St.
  7. Today
  8. Really late offer to a high school senior D lineman
  9. From KenPom- "Luck, which is the deviation in winning percentage between a team’s actual record and their expected record using the correlated gaussian method. The luck factor has nothing to do with the rating calculation, but a team that is very lucky (positive numbers) will tend to be rated lower by my system than their record would suggest."
  10. I suspect Evan will have the primary task of defending Gillespie tonight. He'll be a little outsized but he's up to the task as he's one of the Zips best defenders. If Whatley is out, Amani's free to take some of that on.
  11. Troy lost to JMU by 9 at Home. The Sun Belt is a disaster
  12. They moved up to 3rd overnight lmao
  13. I wish someone would explain how KenPom calculates LUCK.
  14. Giving me all the bad memories
  15. They are. They showed the Seat Map, and the outback is back in its old spot by the student entrance
  16. Ugh. Zips and Red Hawks now tie for the longest home win-streaks.
  17. That's about right and I'd take Akron with the points. We're playing a team who lost to CMU a week or so ago. That same CMU team lost to EMU by 30. Kent is 5th in Luck per KenPom - time to end their luck. Go prove we're the class of the MAC. Go Zips!
  18. Spread is zips -11.5. That’s seems way too high for a rivalry game
  19. Class of 2026 commit...... very good size for a forward. 4.0 student https://www.instagram.com/p/DUB7JyzgUdU/?img_index=1 https://www.ncsasports.org/womens-soccer-recruiting/ohio/medina/highland-high-school40/grace-shondel1
  20. Yesterday
  21. For what it's worth they did trail by 29 in the 3Q, but cut in to 12 in the 4Q before settling at 18, not 20. 😉
  22. I know, but you're going to get another crack at them.
  23. Last time we lost a home game...695 days ago (March 5, 2024) Last time we lost to Kent home or away...1,056 days (March 10, 2023 - MAC Semifinals) Gotta keep these streaks going tomorrow!
  24. I remember someone on here saying it but I don't recall that being said by the Athletic department. Not saying it wasn't, that's just my recollection.
  25. I feel like I recall them saying they will pull the bleachers out for the Kent game whenever the change was first announced
  26. I mean, you'd think so but I guess we'll see 😅
  27. If they kept it open for the 16 people sipping on Bud Lights and didn't pull out the bleachers for the 800 tickets they could have sold, I think I'd return my diploma.
