Tracking Roster Movement going into 2026
ZippyDoo replied to catdaddyp's topic in Akron Zips Football Recruiting
Just looking at Cat's list above there's 18 from defense alone that either graduate or have already hit the portal, six on the line out of twenty (thats interior and edges combined) I'm sure Bruno is next. No way Bruno stays. Akron cannot have the money to pay him to stay and he has worked to hard to pass up the money. With Laventure, Madden, and K. Murphy leaving, Zips are losing three of the four interior linemen with any experience. Hull obviously has the most and hopefully they give Mixon the chance to cut loose. Because of the lack of concern to get depth on the line next year Durham and Hull are the only ones returning with experience. Mixon will be returning with 170 snaps, he and Hull are the only two with snaps at all. Dall and Durham played a combined total of 1327 snaps, the twins played combined 292... Cj Murphy is gone, Kam Cheatom is gone, Brown played 14 snaps and Duncan played 8 that is our returning defensive line. Hopefully the freshmen get the chance in spring to show what they can do. There is a lot of size and potential there. Demery-Brown is bigger than any interior lineman on the team last year or this year and Kavals is the same size as Dall. They have some big shoes to fill but hopefully they can do it and Watkins is the same size as Cheatom. Linebackers, James, Boswell, and Reeves might be ready to go... I hope Tibs stays and works with them.. - Today

Back to Iowa.

2nd highest APR score in program history. Not officially out of APR bullshit, but Dr. Goodrich feels confident he can get it waived for next season due to significant progress.
-
Single-Year APR Scores for Football: 2024-25: 962 (pending an upward adjustment; 2nd highest in program history) 2023-24: 920 2022-23: 908 2021-22: 885 2020-21: 943 2019-20: 953 We would've been bowling this year had we won 6+ games. Guarantee it.

Gladly.

Athletics starts around 1:10:00. Footballs APR jumped significantly
-
pretty crazy developments today. He threw it all away.
-
Good day for the SOS. (Ignore EMU)
-
UMass made 2 free throws with 5 seconds to go to win 76-74. Nice win for the MAC.
-
Iona is now 8-3 after beating Bryant.
-
And the UMass lead is gone
-
That's good for UMass, but Boston College is pretty much a mid-major masquerading as a P5.
-
Miami OH held on to win in OT 90-87. Impressive win (not). UMass is currently battling Boston College on ESPNU. Up by 12 with 11 min to go.
-
Sherrone has been detained by the police. Allegedly was threatening self harm, breaking and entering, etc.

If big time college football has taught us anything in recent years, getting fired under the right circumstances creates life changing wealth. Moore blew tens of millions of dollars just because he couldn't control himself. He could have the pick of hundreds of women who don't work at the school. Freaking unbelievable. What an idiot. Rumor has it the coach at OU was banging a nursing student.

A good coach can be made great by a supportive program. A good coach can be destroyed by a program that doesn't really support their football program in a meaningful way. Anyone want to guess which is Akron and which is Toledo? This guy will do well at Toledo because he is at a premium MAC program. He will be made better than he is now because the people around him will help him get to where he needs to be.

Best thing that could've happened to Michigan football.

Michigan fired Sherrone for cause. Rumors on the internet is he had an affair with someone on staff and knocked them up. Time will tell if accurate. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2025/12/10/michigan-football-sherrone-moore-scandal-fired-for-cause-violation-university/87707335007/
