I just love seeing Groce interact with the players. You can see just how much he loves those kids and his job.

The last line is mostly it for me. Also, I believe all my money going to the collective is going to players and the athletic department would have other uses even if it's all to basketball. I'm not saying there's a bad choice either. I'll get the official athletic link in here too when I have a chance. Bottom line we should all support however we are able imo

Something from the NIU game is what I heard. A pull or a tweak

I'm almost certain athletic department contributions are no longer tax deductible unless it's to do something like endow an athletic scholarship. Even if it is you would have to itemize to get the deduction. Only 7%-10% of Americans itemize. I'm not one of them. I'm fairly certain the athletic department is only allowed to revenue share 22% of athletic department revenue. This excludes Hollywood math, like student fees, that ADs try to claim as revenue. That means if Akron generates $10M in revenue they are only allowed to revenue share $2.2M. That excellence fund is to help cover that $2.2M so Akron doesn't have to pay for it out of pocket. FTR isn't tied to any cap. I'm not 100% certain of everything I've said, but that's the conclusion that I've gathered from my previous internet search into the matter. If I misspoke someone please correct me. At the end of the day there must be a reason to have both otherwise we likely wouldn't have both. I trust Bud with my money more than I do Akron's administration.

There will be many more fans than that on Thursday at 11am.

Nate was also MAC player of the year. Eric is currently the fourth or fifth option on a very good team.

That's actually really funny. We actually did eat there to celebrate her win there. 😂 You are correct, it is quite good. -

Please tell me you at least at here. https://bistrobellavita.com/ In all my years of business travel, it's one of my top five restaurants. -
Yeah I mean we can probably send the same video fifteen minutes before the first game Thursday in Cleveland too

Serious question - what’s the point of donating to the collective at this point when you can donate directly to the sport of your choice’s revenue sharing fund (and potentially get a tax deduction you wouldn’t get from donating to the collective).

My wife is an award winning quilter. Very proud of her. 😊 -
Banged up other than his broken nose that he has been playing with for weeks? Haha
-
I don't think he'll ever get to that level but I suspect he'll be a solid contributor.
-
Word is Halligan a little dinged up. Hopefully he can play this week. But if not, they need to carry on his toughness and defensive energy to start games.
-
Let’s enjoy this week and remember how good we have it right now! MAC Tourny one of the best experiences in college basketball!
-
Don't forget Cody Head if he stays. It won't be on the chain but he could be like a Castaneda who came in and balled for 2 years.
-
It is very interesting to see Groce and Tavari bring up Tai Perkins. If we can keep Sharron and then Tai becomes that freshman PG with some playing time we still have a very nice chain of Guards through Groce's tenure

While I'd like Akron to spend more money on Athletics, because I'm a sports fan, I'm not sure how many more students are going to enroll at a University because they win the MAC. It's not like Miami is going to consistently be in the national spotlight. They are right now in basketball because several close games went their way, but even with additional big spending, it would be very difficult to see them making national noise consistently while still in the MAC (or even if they move to the SBC or whatever). It seems like a bad financial decision to me, I guess is what I'm saying. 😉

Thanks. (Out of reactions/likes)

Tim O'Shea. Bobcat Attack has been using it for years to signal a coaching change.

I got the same email. The initial announcement made this seem way more relaxed than what it appears to be. Hopefully they aren't just choosing people from the Good Ole Club. Under 100 applicants isn't very many. Maybe it would be prudent to accept all the applicants at that number, mix up who attends the meetings each time for different perspectives, etc. -
What's TOS mean?

This. I think 5500 (including amenities and loges) is the perfect size. And make it a basketball arena; not ice hockey.
