  1. Today
  2. I came here fully expecting that someone was posting about WMU's loss to a school called Northwood.
  3. Unfortunately, it’s supposed to be around 30 degrees at kickoff
  4. Lt. Governor Tressel has some type of fitness challenge going on. Free tickets to kids and their families. Hopefully we get a good turnout. He is supposed to be there with Ginn Jr.
  5. Looks like they're in mid-season form already. 😂
  6. Two touchdowns and two field goals
  7. WMU lost to northwood😭😭😭. Ban the directionals
  8. Ohio beat Illinois St at home. Might not sound impressive Illinois St. was ranked 122 in KenPom so that gives them the highest ranked win of the year so far. Great win for the MAC
  9. This is Tuesday Night MACtion nonsense. There's gonna be a CFL rouge somehow.
  10. Yesterday
  11. Two missed extra points.
  12. Congratulations to Zips alum Declan Watters…
  13. I dated a lovely southern belle who graduated from MUW. She was from Alabama and enjoyed the distinction of being Miss Dothan Alabama. It is quite prestigious to attend and graduate from the "W", as it is called in that area of the country. Needless to say she dumped me and later married a TV executive from Cleveland. The girl obviously had good taste.
  14. Akron 27 Kent 15
  15. zips move up one spot in soccer coaches rankings #19 this week https://unitedsoccercoaches.org/rankings/college-rankings/ncaa-di-men/
  16. Watched a lot of the KSU/Testicle Tech game. Slow night. KSU offense seemed pretty limited. Akron 'should' win unless...they don't show up ready to play and let KSU get some momentum, unless they commit turnovers and give KSU short fields, unless they get drawn in to stupid penalties like personal fouls etc. and unless Moorehead forgets that he has one of the best RBs in the MAC in Gant and tries to put the game on Finley. The defense should be able to control things enough to limit KSUs scoring opportunities. But, again all bets are off if they do those things noted above.
  17. Last night Mississippi Valley State, usually ranked last in Kenpom annually, played the mens basketball team from "Mississippi University for Women". MVSU won 97-61 After some research, Mississippi University for Women has been admitting men since 1982, and the name of the school when it was founded in 1884 was "Industrial Institute and College for the Education of White Girls of Mississippi"
  18. Likely. That was a 48-10 win over Can't in 2002.
  19. Toccoa already off to a rough start this year at 0-7. Not looking good to break the streak tonight against 0-1 Charleston Southern. On the plus side, they only lost to the UMass football team 10-9.
  20. Thank you, glad to do them! I’m not sure the last FBS team we played was as bad as this 2025 UMass squad. We beat NIU 44-12 in Moorhead’s first season, but that NIU team was better than its record indicated and a lot of things broke our way that day. The UMass team we faced Tuesday night was both talent-deficient and injury-riddled. I agree—the Burns-led Kent teams probably would’ve beaten the Tuesday night version of UMass, although it might’ve been close. All that said, there’s a scenario where UMass leapfrogs us in the near future. They’re set to be one of the highest NIL bidders in the MAC, and their coaching staff will be among the best-compensated in the conference. If they use those resources wisely, NIL will help them retain their top players, while we’ll keep losing ours until something changes financially.
  21. I guess I wasn't really clear. That's what I meant about the positive mention. It was as though they were acknowledging. Akron had finally gotten off the list, by calling them the artist formerly known as Akronmonious. 😊
  22. I believe I read somewhere - can't now remember where so I cannot reference it - that this was our largest margin of victory over an FBS opponent in 23 years? I know it's been a while but that stat still surprised me.
  23. Kent State lost to Ball State tonight. The Ball State quarterback had an off night so the game appeared to be Kent’s for the taking. But it’s Kent- multiple penalties. The real difference, however, was a long series of questionable decisions bordering on outright stupid by the KSU coaching staff. One would conclude that they must have gone to PCCC. We can not count on their repeating that many stupid moves in a single game. We will have to play better than Ball State did to beat them.
  24. Obviously they can lose this because it is still Akron. But with what seems like a little progress in the past few weeks, the Zips can not afford to lose this game.
  25. Slight correction MD. The team is mentioned just not listed. See UMess paragraph.
