What fun night. Zips Nation showed out, at least 80% Akron fans there and probably the biggest crowd that I can remember there since maybe 2010 ish vs OU. Good times. Easy to root for this group

You can see it better in this video. Look how many Akron fans there are. Unbelievably good showing from the Zips faithful. Toledo is 1.5 hours from Cleveland and that crowd was probably 80/20 Akron.

I already gave kudos to Evan, but watch…with 6 seconds left here again his defense slows the ball down. And then he pokes the ball away. Toledo does get a shot off, but it was a frantic heave because of Evan’s disruption.

I don't think about Toledo at all. I'm so indifferent towards them. All my hate goes to Kent, OU, and Miami.

Amani I don't think had a great first half. Not sure how many of those rebounds were 1st vs 2nd half, but I'm willing to guess ~10 of his 15 points came in the 2nd half. He really stepped it up and was a big reason we got back into it.

I hate Todelo so much. But they did play a hell of a game too. The difference was the character of our guys. Their belief in themselves and a never die attitude. Which is infused into them on a daily basis by our whole coaching staff. That’s part of the culture element. But Groce did also make in game adjustments. One already discussed was to switch back and forth from man to zone defense to slow them down. And finally Tod, to be the best you need to beat the best. There is nothing fluky or charmed about the Akron Zips!!

Amani didn't appear to have a good game but he did. 15 points and 16 rebounds. And Scott felt like he had a great game but was 5-15 and only 2-8 from three. But man what one of those two threes was. Captain Clutch
