  1. Past hour
  2. Maybe. Syracuse is an awful place most of the year. Summit county is more desirable. Syracuse needs a coach who could reach into the deep recruiting pool that is NYC and get that program going.
  3. At what point do anti trust laws apply to P4 conferences? My guess is it's more likely to give them an anti trust exemption, see MLB, than not. What role would a collective bargaining agreement have in an anti trust agreement? I don't know these answers, but it seems as if we are approaching this point fast than I ever expected.
  4. He is not getting the job. He was not a finalist. The only person with an Akron connection who was in the mix was Heather Lyke. But that seems unlikely now. http://Complaint alleges Lyke contributed to ‘culture of intimidation' at SU https://share.google/Zdhpf4NGDFCpKV9vR
  5. Too bad I didn't see those odds before the game. Not sure why CSU would be +1.5 (or even -1.5) when they were at home and had twice as many conference wins as IU-Indy.
  6. Give it a few more years of the B1G spanking the SEC and then some senator from Alabama or Louisiana will make reform a priority. Just look at how involved the Louisiana Governor was in the recent coaching change. It's an easy way for them to gain favor with their constituents without having to do a whole lot.
  7. I don't know if you went over to kent for the game friday, but their emcee might be even worse than ours. Basically like a 40 year old manchild wearing a cut-off t-shirt and you couldn't even understand what he was saying. He fit in with the crowd very well
  8. Im happy they have been posting these earlier. I have nothing to watch mondays usually
  9. Today
  10. The answer is no
  11. I would agree with this statement most years, but the Big East is having a bad year (by their standards). Buffalo beat 5th place DePaul by 13 earlier in the season. I think this season both Akron and Miami would compete in that 5-7 range in the conference.
  12. If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle
  13. There is so much nuance to that hypothetical, though. If Akron or Miami OH were in the Big East, they'd likely have a few better recruits, more familiarity with those schools in terms of game planning, and they'd automatically get home games vs the better competition - something they don't get now. The best counterargument I've seen is posing the question if his son was one of the best 68 candidates for the job as they are currently 11th in the SEC (bottom half) at 6-10 in conference.
  14. When politicians figure out how to enrich themselves and concentrate wealth even more for their friends.
  15. He can be unhappy but Pearl is not wrong. Miami (or Akron) probably would finish in the lower half of the Big East conference.
  16. Sure we are. Last season was the only year this senior class has had the #1 seed in the MAC tournament. I imagine in many of those years few had us slotted into the field a week before the tournament.
  17. Not exactly a "Portal Departure" but Defensive Line coach Leonard has departed for Marshall university. I don't know if they have named a new d line coach yet or not but I don't certain players are going to be getting 700 snaps this upcoming season
  18. We're not used to this, are we. Think of it as bulletin board material..
  19. Miami AD unhappy with Bruce Pearl- https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/48083375/miami-oh-ad-blasts-pearl-disrespecting-unbeaten-redhawks
  20. I'm a big LeBron fan but I'll admit he is kinda... eccentric. (He was world famous as a teenager so it's understandable). When KD left for Duquesne LeBron wrote a letter to UA endorsing his former high school coach Dru Joyce Sr. for the job. When Dru was passed over he felt disrespected & I think that's when LBJ put some emotional distance between himself & UA. Hopefully he gets over it. I'm crossing my fingers he moves back to Akron (at least part time) after he retires & gets involved in the community like his high school friends Romeo Travis, Sian Cotton, & Willie McGee have done. Those guys could be living in condos on a beach somewhere but they're all involved in various aspects of STVM/iPromise enterprises. (So are Josh & John Williams, btw.) Yeah. The poor iPromise kids largely come from... suboptimal... home environments so though they've been given every publicly-funded academic advantage known to man they still have failing academic progress ratings. LeBron also built very nice, new condos for the families on the corner of Maple & Exchange but the families aren't taking care of them, as there are already holes in the walls & often-broken windows as well as homeless sneaking in to sleep (& defecate) in the hallways 🤦‍♂️. A young lady was just shot & killed in there a week ago 😕
  21. I think I like playing Kent on the penultimate week of the regular season as opposed to the final week/game. Miami's got two potentially tough games this week in Toledo & Ohio, while we have what should be (🤞🤞) two easier matchups cruising into Cleveland. Miami's next two weeks could potentially look like: Toledo, Ohio, UMass, Ohio, Akron (🤞) If they don't lose at least one of those games, then 🫡 to them
  22. Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. 🤷‍♂️
  23. At last count, there has been only 1 student earn a degree from this program. The I Promise institute at Infocision has been empty for a couple of years.
  24. It looks goofy, but I honestly don't hate the fact that they re-seed after the opening round.
  25. NIU is going to be a welcomed addition.
  26. Speaking of odd brackets check out the Horizon League.
  27. I think Miami has a message board you can use.
