  1. Past hour
  2. I think TJ, Scott and Young all start. Lyles definitely starts. Evan Mahaffey would be my other guess.
  3. Today
  4. The offense is terrible…..effort can only get you so far. Going from Emil to Ferguson is a steep drop off…..
  5. He sucks. I can’t stand watching him every time he plays lol
  6. Can someone tell me why Ferguson is playing at all? Yes I know he scored but anyone could have scored that goal. Every time he touches the ball = turnover.
  7. I feel like I’m at a Jimmy Buffet concert…..”Into the mixer.”
  8. I see big value in Shammah being the 6th man but I think he put the blood sweat and tears for this program to not start his senior year. And then I could see both Mahaffey bother’s start with Amani Lyles and Johnson.
  9. Is Finely playing? After watching last week, I just cannot see us moving the ball without him.
  10. It will be interesting to see if anyone makes a dramatic leap like Amani and Tavari did last year. I always thought Tavari had talent but I was in the minority on this board and took a lot of grief from people on this board until last year. However, I was unhappy that Amani stayed with the team last year since I just did not see the talent. Could not be happier to be dead wrong. Nobody can ever predict who will improve from one year to the next.
  11. Jack Roman has to be on the National list for the 5 most improved players in college soccer. Tremendous work by Jack Roman......to create that goal. The work rate of Jack Roman is phenomenal.
  12. Halftime. 1-0 Akron on 38" goal by Nathan Ferguson. Assists to Pedro and Roman.
  13. Yesterday
  14. Sept. 28th West Virginia with a 1-0 road win at Central Florida Sept. 29 Ohio State gets a 2-1 home win over traditional (sarcasm, anyone?) Midwest foe UCLA Sept. 30th Cleveland State - a 3-1 home win over St. Bonaventure South Florida gets a 3-1 home win over Western Michigan Western Michigan record is now 2-7-1 Bowling Green - 2-0 home win over Northern Kentucky Cornell goes on the road and puts a 5-0 beatdown on Binghamton Friday October 3rd Afternoon Big East games Last Saturday night, Villanova went on the road and got a huge upset win at UConn This afternoon, Villanova went on the road again and played at Providence Providence was very dominant in a 5-0 win Butler got its first Big East win with a 4-0 road win at DePaul

  16. I wouldn't touch that line with a 10 foot pole. CMU is more than capable of letting the Zips think they're competent.
  17. If the stars align, I believe both Akron and Miami have teams capable of meeting/eclipsing the 2002 run by Kent State. That's how bullish I am on this BB season. Injuries have to be avoided, inevitable 'bad' games have to be overcome and so forth. But based on roster talent and returning experience both teams are loaded. Even a poor start out of the gate - remember Kent was 4-4 before they figured it out - can be overcome by either team. The sad part is, 2002 was the year the NCAA pimped the MAC, big time, and hasn't looked back. Bowling Green, had at least one power conference win and I believe, lost just nine games, and 3 of those were to Kent. Ball State that year had a huge non-conference with at least two and maybe 3 P5 wins. Marshall was loaded as well. It's assumed Kent would not have been an at-large w/o winning the 2002 MAC Tournament. That will likely be the case for Akron and/or Miami. Sad.
  18. Exactly. That's why I started it, to whip up some preseason conversation. I've also heard Eric was really good in last year's preseason.
  19. sorry for the slow reply. I did not know the answer until today... You are correct....there is no quarterfinal this year. Someone official (member of coaching staff) sent this out today ...for remaining schedule Games Remaining: 10/3 vs St. Johns 10/7 @ Cornell 10/11 vs DePaul 10/17 @ Seton Hall 10/25 @ Xavier 11/1 vs Marquette 11/7 @ Creighton 11/13 - Big East Semi-Final (Maryland) 11/16 - Big East Final (Maryland)
  20. All these guesses at the starting lineup are fun. Just remember that Eric Mahaffey was penciled into the starting lineup last year until a knee injury sidelined him for the season. Under Groce, whoever plays the best during practice gets playing time. Every minute of every practice is graded by the coaching staff. Outside of the point guard we have a team full of multidimensional players. It's going to be a fun season.
  21. I would be stunned if Evan wasn't starting. If he was good enough to start 38 games in the Big 10, surely he is good enough to start in the MAC. IMO he will start at the 4. Stankovic was kind of a late add and probably needs more time to develop and learn Groce system. I wouldn't be surprised if both him and Evan start by the start of MAC play.
  22. I'm really starting to get excited about the upcoming season. I assume Tavari and Amani are locked into the starting lineup. I suspect we may see Stankovic in the starting lineup (just like I expected Taylor Currie!). I've also heard he's closer to 6'6" than 6'8." That leaves spots for 2 guards/wings. I could see either Mahaffey in one of those roles. Does Sharon move into the starting lineup or does Shammah? This is much more fun than trying to figure out who's going to play with Malcolm Duvivier and Jimond. How far we've come.
