  2. Ironically, according to archived stories on GoZips.com, last year the non-conference schedule was released on August 12th. And then the conference schedule was released on August 14th.
  3. This feels more useful than the Coaches poll that just copied the final rankings from last season. Also, interestingly, Akron is #30 (receiving votes) and this used to be a Top 30 poll until this year, as noted in their intro.
  4. When do we normally see the schedule released?
  5. He was here for Streamer University, incognito.
  6. Yes, Clark, has anyone see him on campus?
  7. Hmmmm, so our buddy Boals can get beat twice in Cleveland this season.

  9. Swap out St. Bonnie with Cincinnati. Better still How about OSU-Cincy-Dayton/Xavier-MAC on a rotating basis. I'm guessing 'A' Ohio state university would not want to be in a pool with other Ohio universities ... unless the game is played in C-bus. So many state universities in Ohio to choose from, ... but I'm sure you know who I mean.
  10. https://collegesoccernews.com/college-soccer-news-mens-soccer-preseason-top-25-poll-marshall-takes-top-spot-going-into-week-1/ College soccer news has issued a pre season top 25.... they say that they have coaches voting in their poll. I am going from memory...but I will try to post teams from the zips schedule...that are ranked 2. Vermont 9. Ohio State 11. West Virginia 20. Western Michigan 23. Cornell Akron, of course, could meet #8 Georgetown in Big East tourney. Providence also received votes in the poll (another possibility for conference tourney) I am really surprised that St. Louis is not ranked as they had strong recruiting class.
  11. Imagine leaving paradise for Louisiana. I guess they're making her rich.
  12. Looks like the MAC will be the rotating piece in this, as we are the only team from last year's event not participating this year.
  13. I'm hopeful we can use this thread to track rankings and RPI as they change throughout the season rather than jumping around the forum to find them.
  14. In limited 2nd half action, Braxton Hayes did not seem to be pushing for a starting job in Exhibition #1. Disappointing. Hopefully, we shall see more of Hayes on Wednesday during exhibition #2.
  15. This article has no rankings...but top drawer soccer (TDS) ...did a Big East preview https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/article/?categoryId=21&articleId=54910&articleTitle=mens-a10-big-east-ivy-league-preview Big East Akron joining has done wonders for the strength of the Big East, adding another storied team to a conference full of legacy programs. The Zips and Georgetown will likely fight for supremacy, while Providence looks to continue its rise as an elite program. St. John’s and Connecticut, two programs desperate to reach the highs of the late 90s and early 2000s, are among the others to look out for this season. Top Players to Watch: Mitch Budler, Akron(m) (Goalkeeper of the Year) Top Freshmen to Watch: Braxton Hayes, Akron(m) (No. 116 Ranked TDS Class of 2025)
  16. I am excited to watch this team! I wish we could just skip football season and go straight into basketball season.

  18. Here is an article from an Toronto FC fan site https://wakingthered.com/2025/08/10/20736/toronto-fc-snatch-draw-in-philadelphia-in-djordje-mihailovic-debut/ I like one of the comments below the article The good news was Henry. He changed the match with three or four impressively good passes, including the assistance. He is very fast and anxious to play.
  19. Tremendous day (Aug 9, 2025) for Malik!!!
  20. What an absolutely sensational debut for Malik Henry so very happy for the young man what a great pass
  21. Starting DL was- Dall Hull Laventure Durham
  22. Thanks for the update Captain. This was like water in the desert for fans craving something about football. I believe this team will be improved and capable of playing good football. Still I do not have confidence we can go better than 5-7. We are on the right road to recovery if we stick to a long term vision.
  23. I’m curious as well. My guess is it’ll be Hull and Laventure—Hull being the best DT in the spring and Laventure subsequently earning the #1 jersey on defense.
  24. Thank you for this. Any idea who the first string DT’s seemed to be? I assume Durham, Dall, and Cheatom will be primary rotation at DE..unless one of the JUCO guys are surprising, but we’re very unproven at DT.
  25. It seems odd that they lost their tallest player (Okonkwo) and got bigger, but it works out that way.
  26. I only hold second-hand information, but I understand Nathan Ferguson scored a first-half brace with an assist to Ashton Kamden. Lineup was Budler, Kamden and Pedro at wing backs. Daragh and Kossehasse center backs. Dreas, Borneo, Roman, Morck, Filsinger and Ferguson. I'll await the release of further secrets from our usual correspondents!
  27. They generally don't publish the score or a game summary for exhibition games, probably at the coaches' request. It's strange considering the games are open to the public, but it's been that way the last few years at least. Anyways, the Zips won 2-0. Two goals from Ferguson in the first 22 minutes. The starters mostly came out at halftime and the 2nd half was a little disjointed as you may expect.
