  1. Today
  2. I don't know, but he has a two week head start on the rest of college football and Franklin is already in place. Announcing a coordinator hire this early in the recruiting process could be helpful in securing key players from the TP.
  3. Maybe the conversation could sound something like this. "Mr. Commissioner, you are killing us with the schedule. All we ask is to play our rival when the weather is nice on a Friday early in the season so we can have a decent crowd. You did it for the BG/Toledo rivalry and all they did was sell out a stadium and put on a very exciting game. We all know the only people dedicated to weeknight games are drunks and degenerate gamblers. Gamblers will bet on anything and drunks will drink to anything, so trading Kent for another MAC school on a Tuesday night won't matter. Would it be too much to ask for you to dislodged your head from your ass for a few minutes to schedule the Akron/Kent rivalry early in the season?" There you go. Problem solved.
  4. For those of us who actually follow the MAC we understand how difficult injuries can be on a team. Nick Saban isn't going to win in the MAC with bach up quarterbacks. Let's review. Before the injury bug got them, they had wins against Liberty, Lafayette and a Toledo team that could finish with 8 wins and a bowl. BG was easily on their way to a bowl and an outside shot at Detroit based upon their remaining schedule. I know how easy (lazy) it is to use facts as reasons. The fact is BG is on a long losing streak. The reasons are pretty clear. To think Eddie George, Nick Saban, Woody Hayes or anyone else would couch their way out of it would be stupid. George made the FCS playoffs last year at a school that I don't think had ever made it. Sanders won at Jackson State. Colorado is a black hole of college football misery and long term success there isn't realistic. BG isn't a black hole and I anticipate him doing well there for as long as he wants to.
  5. Was. This is the Portal Era. Keep up, RoyalBlu.
  6. I thought Coit was at KAnsas ...
  7. Indeed, that OU site is on the edge of revolt. But as one post noted, that team was essentially a MAC team. They compared them to Toledo and that BC roster does indeed have a couple of former MAC/CMU starters. But still should not be a loss at home.
  8. The Beacon Journal is doing a nice job of promoting Zips mens soccer this week. Malone Pioneer posted an excellent article from the Beacon(about zips seeding and possible opponents) .....under the ratings and RPI topic. This morning, The Beacon did a very good article on Stefan Dobrijevic. (attached below) I greatly admire Stefan for his tremendous improvement as a soccer player over the past 4 years. After reading this article, I also greatly admire Stefan as he is true definition of a "Student-Athlete". Congratulations to Stefan on his success on the soccer field and also for his succcesses in the class room. https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/sports/college/zips/2025/11/19/stefan-dobrijevic-akron-zips-soccer-ncaa-tournament/87320211007/ Dobrijevic grew up in Akron as an Akron Public Schools student, attending Salem Elementary School, STEM Middle School and Firestone High School. His family moved to Uniontown when he was 16, but he remained at Firestone, where he took engineering, college level and advanced placement classes, recorded a 4.7 GPA and graduated in December 2021. Dobrijevic played club soccer with Internationals Academy, which is based in Medina, and started taking classes at UA in January 2022. He has a 3.8 GPA, earned a degree in business administration with a minor in marketing in December 2024 and is working toward an MBA.
  9. Kent follows up their win vs us by getting destroyed at home by CMU. Unbelievably bad loss by the Zips last week.
  10. central michigan is about to beat kent state. they are beating them 21-9 with four minutes left that means that central michigan is still in the running for mac championship AND kent will not be going to a bowl. its like yay we beat central michigan still competing for the championship but in the same breath we freaking lost to kent state !!!
  11. Former NIU standout David Coit with 41 pts for Maryland in a 4 pt win over Mount St. Mary's.
  12. Here is a great post from the game thread: This is awful. I was a huge critic of Saul so I feel I have to say it: Boals is done here. He has lived off of JP and BVP long enough. No player development in all of his years. He runs a black hole offense when the ball is lost. Letting Hadaway be a point forward shows Boals is inept. Not playing JJ Kelly 35 mins a game is malpractice. Starting Ajay is awful. Not running offense with Elliott...the list goes on. We need a clean break. How has Bethune Cookman outrecruited us? We have 2 guys who can create their own shots. Buh-bye Boals. Once a Bobcat, always a Bobcat but you gots to go.
  13. I haven't seen anything to deny or confirm it, so for now, we laugh. Lol.
  14. Bobcat Attack is a fun read right now. They're done with Boals.
  15. Would be juicy, but looks like it’s a parody account.
  16. Toledo with a convincing 17-point win against YSU. Ohio with an embarrassing loss to Bethune Cookman
  17. I can't believe you didnt just say Tim Tyrell. 😉
  18. I'm more confused why the cartel have an interest in college athletics.
  19. If this is true, wow.
  20. Well no VT is no go. At best 1 win in the first 4 again.
  21. Well.. a win is a win. Before the season I said 4-4 in the MAC was minimum. They got that. But I also said major program changes were/are needed. Yep. The more I read posts here about the lack of support from Administration for for football the more obvious it is. If the Admin. refuses to support the program at a DI level then they have to get out of DI! The record spesks for itself. Changing coaches is like moving the bulbs on the Xmas tree. Same tree. Either put up for DI or drop to 1AA or DII where U can afford to compete every season. Not a big Moorehead fan anymore but the problems go far deeper.
  22. Out of likes, but +1. QB is the number one position that teams prioritize spending on. Heck, we lost Zach Gibson to a team that was willing to pay more for him to be their 2nd string emergency policy. Anyone with any promise someone will get paid even if they aren't expected to start.
  23. I want Finley with fewer fumbles and less shell shock in the pocket. The word "game manager" is used as a slur these days. I'd take a really good game manager who makes the right decisions and knows when to live to fight another day. The key to success in MAC, more than any other conference, is to limit mistakes and wait for the other team to blow the game.
  24. With the backs and TEs we had, I don't think the 4-5 WR spreads made the most sense. Just, Ben would have been good enough in that role. Alas, here we are.
  25. This was always my complaint against Sam Hartman at Wake Forest. He padded the stat sheet but never won a big game.
