That is absolutely outstanding to have 13 student athletes on the list. The 2nd highest team in the MAC had 10. Some schools only had 5 or 6. 3.933 GPA in Biology ; 3.933 in Marketing Management, 3.829 in Business ; 3.733 in Mechanical engineering ; 3.71 in Economics....those are some outstanding gpa's for any student. With the time commitment that these young men have with soccer, those are simply top notch numbers. These young men have so much to be proud of. Congratulations to these outstanding young men.

Good thing this list wasn't something other MAC coaches could vote on to say he wasn't one of the 22 best players in the MAC let alone the top 11.

Looking at that list again, I'll add to TennZips's comments with how impressed I am by our soccer stud from Brazil, Victor Souto / Junior / 3.829 / Business. English is his 2nd language, and he's in the USA with family back in Brazil. WOW.

As a Zips fan, it is great to be going into the "closing time" of recruiting season with the quarterback position solidified, a winning staff in place, a bowl berth and a winning record. Couple all of that with our facilities, and I'd expect we'll have a great 2016 recruiting class. To quote Charlie Frye from his Frenchy interview: "If you're a high school football player, why wouldn't you want to come here?"

Western Michigan, Middle Tennessee to meet in Bahamas Bowl On Saturday night, Middle Tennessee announced it was accepting a bid to the Bahamas Bowl. Western Michigan is expected to receive a bid in the coming days. For what its worth, Bryan Fischer of Bleacher Report has us in the Cure Bowl in Orlando. That game is Dec 19th at 7 pm. For anyone traveling now a days, check fly.com before you book. I have had good luck with them recently. Example, CLE to Orlando on the 19th right now shows Frontier $138 round trip non stop w/ tax. I've noticed a price difference from early morning pricing to late afternoon. Book early morning. ​Side note: Bernie Kosar showed highlights of the Zips beating Can't and congratulated coach Bowden and coach Amato on his Sports Zone Show on Sunday night.

I dislike these because they are basically true road games. I realize you don't get "home" bowl games in northeast Ohio but it doesn't have to be in the heart of the opponent's fanbase either.

I'd take Akron in Detroit against NC State in a heartbeat. My eyes cross watching football on blue (or gray) turf and Sun Belt teams don't do anything for me (no offense South Alabama). Detroit is also an easy drive for local Zip fans.

I would get the answer to that straight from the State Department on that. I have seen conflicting information re: the Bahamas and passports. This page indicates it is necessary: http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/country/the-bahamas.html Also, you must have 2 empty pages and make sure your passport is not expiring within 6 months. I have colleagues who have been denied travel due to that.
