  1. I think QB is the least of our problems. DL and LB’s are #1, and if someone wanted to make a case for OL I couldn’t disagree.

  2. You’re exactly right, I feel bad for getting sucked into that nonsense again. Gotta ignore it, but it’s so hard sometimes.

  3. Everything Matt does turns to gold. His Xfinity team is the dominant team this year. He already has a Cup win in a part time effort which is the quickest a new team has won in the modern era. There is constant news of his expanding businesses. Even with all this, he is still doing what he can for the Akron area and Northeastern Ohio in general. The president of his race team, Chris Rice, is on Sirius about every other week because he is a great interview and they win about every other race. He always start with "Im at" or "just got back from" a fundraiser in Akron with Matt to raise money for The University of Akron or Zips athletics or they are raising money for the children's hospital or passing out teddy bears that the Nascar foundation raised money for. They are always using their platform to better the area. Chris is a very positive, intelligent and high energy kind of person who has the ability to make everyone around him better. He is a great example of Matt finding great people that are like minded to oversee his companies.

  4. Just to point out the rampant apathy we've been beaten into, the Terry's Next Endeavor thread about a guy fired 1052 days ago has had more posts since this thread was created than this thread. 😴

  5. I try to look at the positive side of things. And Akron football tests that...but I try.

  8. Just a microcosm of today's world where everyone has to be right and spend WAYYYYYYY too much time not changing anyone's mind. The fun part is, with the Bowden saga, both sides are right. It was time for him to be gone from Akron, and he still has something left in the tank for coaching. Anyway, we're nearly 2-touchdown underdogs to a pretty bad Buffalo team. After watching UB/OU, I think that spread is too small unless it's buoyed by crappy weather. Current forecast is partly cloudy, mid 50s with light winds, so that should affect much. Buffalo 35, Zips 14.

  9. I'm 98% serious, but I can imagine Jon's thinking on this possibility.........Le's see; I have lived in some amazingly beautiful places and have more money than many people could spend in a lifetime, but here's an opportunity to move to a place with crappy winters and lead a really bad football team - where do I sign up?

  10. At the end of the day Terry Bowden was here for 7 seasons and only finished 1 year with a winning record. If that's what Akron's ceiling is as a football program I'd rather they just schedule OSU, Alabama, Clemson, and Oklahoma every year for the paycheck and punt on the football program entirely to focus on basketball. 5-7 football doesn't excite me and given how empty Inforcision was when Terry was here I'd say I'm not in the minority. Arth has been an utter failure, but I'd rather try for success (even if it means failing) than to settle for a below average (35-52 overall and 23-33 conference) head coach.
