A bit off topic and irrelevant, but speaking of names, I absolutely hate how Mount Union is now called the University of Mount Union. It's not named after a city or state, it should be Mount Union University. Just me? Okay, probably lol.4 points

Does anyone else cringe as hard as me when you see a recruit say they were offered by "Akron University"? It's downright painful for me.3 points

What a beautiful example of playing together nicely in the same ZNO sandbox. Zipmeister got his "very" removed and BigJim got to use it on our stellar recruit Charles Kellom. An inspiring moment that is sure to bring a tear to any poster's eye. I need a tissueš„.3 points

It's my understanding that 247 only takes info from the school and my guess that previous coaching staffs were not real good about submitting info to 247.2 points

5 games in 11 days, then a week off, then 4 games in 8 days. You can't make this stuff up.2 points

While killing time waiting for the next big Zips recruiting news, I visited the transfer portal and focused on the MAC from a slightly different perspective than I did last time. The punter/kicker who committed to the Zips is not listed on 247 or here (probably a walk-on) but would be classified as a LOWER.2 points

247 has our mystery Cincinnati OL commit listed. It's Jourden Hale. I was wondering if it was him but he hasn't tweeted anything official yet. Since 247 has the 411 (do the cool kids still say that, or is that pre-Google) I'll go ahead and put him on the updated Post #1.1 point

Iām not saying Iām a stars guy or not but Iām about looking at the info and making a opinion. A lot of the information on there is hard to verify. I look at this and say Miami has the best recruiting staff & worst coaching staff in league. They have had the best recruiting class for years but are only 500 every year, i just believe there is more than just stars & i think most coaches preach that, itās the system we have, but it has some flaws & yes, i get it the best programs get the 4 & 5 stars but everyone else needs to find what works best in there system, kids that can stay eligible, stay out of trouble & get depth because the best ability is availability & we run into this every year with injuries & next man up sucks1 point

I know many of you don't care about "stars" or ratings but I do š 247 MAC Recruiting We are not rated last in the MAC anymore We have the highest average player rating. If you were to factor in the transfer players we have brought in I am guessing we would be near the top. We also have the highest rated incoming player in Jacques-Louis (.876). Imagine what this staff will do with a full year under their belts and wind at our backs!!!!!1 point

It is refreshing to see kids the Zips are hosting or that have committed and have a sense of excitement as opposed to asking "who?" as we often did with the prior staff.1 point

Much appreciated. Seems like another area for some free publicity that was completely neglected by previous staffs. You know these kids are out there reading this site, why wouldn't you want to keep it as updated as possible? I guess, unless all your kids only had one FBS offer....1 point

I believe he is a walk-on. 247 hasn't heard of him. Wonder about 2 things: 1) does he know about the FCS kicker joining the team? 2) is he any good at soccer?1 point

Miami plays at Portage County A & T Tuesday night so they probably plan to stay up here rather than travel back to Oxford then back up.1 point

We always called it Akron U growing up. It was an informal term of endearment, actually. Iāve gotten away from calling it that just because I know a lot of ppl donāt like it. But whenever talking about the school I always say āAkron,ā and never the full (formal) The University of Akron. In fact, when weād play touch football in someoneās back yard, instead of counting āOne Mississippi, two Mississippiā¦ā weād count, āOne Akron U, two Akron Uā¦etc.ā1 point

Iām old it was Akron U when I went there & thatās exactly how you said it1 point

I believe all the kickers on the the roster are walk ons until they become the starter1 point

I typed up a detailed dissertation on how the top parochial schools in Ohio play a very tough schedule, but I decided to delete it so as not to continue a pi##### contest. I do not care if the word 'very' is used or not. My point is: I believe we got a stud running back and I am pumped. Bowden and Arth could not have pulled it off. I am going to look at a couple of the other freshman commits. In Joe We Trust!!!1 point

I forgot that former Zips RB & current Buchtel head coach Bryan Williams played for JoeMo. That can't hurt the cause.1 point

This team has good talent and they are playing good, just not pretty and not great. Plenty of top teir talent. But then again you wouldn't know that by hanging out on this board or thread. There is a lot of negative energy. For my two cents. I like this team. They can do some damage.1 point

Zipmeister may be under your skin only because he employs very cerebral humor to get his point across. He is no fool. Compared to Arth he loves this staff. He probably did watch Leave it to Beaver and by no means is he a youngin. Now if you are the Ward from Ward and June Cleaver fame you may find you have a lot in common with the Meister.1 point
