I have to go public and admit that I like Reghi. There I said it and I feel a burden is off my shoulders. It's good to finally come out. He has a few shortcomings, but all in all I like the way he calls MAC games. There is no doubt in my mind, a dangerous place to go, that he loves the Zips. He tries to stay impartial and does a fairly good job at it. Yet when the Zips are winning he can quickly evolve into a Zip homer. I love when that happens.

It's very nice of her to support a coach whose team she just whooped on in the conference quarterfinals.

I'll take Reghi over two stooges from ESPN calling a game from their damn homes everyday. He might be a bit repetitive and a doofus but he's our doofus. He has a passion for the MAC and I give him tons of credit for ditching the spray-on hair. Call me a simple SOB but that's good enough for me.

I just can’t get enough of Reghi’s staccato repeating of the height, weight, college year, and hometown of every player the entire game. Whether he’s already said it 20 times, or not. Love him or hate him, give him credit for being able to read a roster.

I don't disagree with that. There are just some that feel the need to resurrect this thread whenever Duquesne goes on a losing streak or gets eliminated from their conference tournament. Really there are two times that this thread should be resurrected. Once when he officially retires. Another when Akron hangs his name from the rafters.

I don't get the need to s*** on Dambrot. This thread doesn't have to be a Dambrot vs Groce thread. One can appreciate the foundation Dambrot built for the program while also enjoying what Groce is achieving. After all, without Dambrot showing that Akron could be a winning program, Groce probably doesn't risk his reputation as a coach to come here.

If you want 20 wins, hire Keith Dambrot. Beyond that is expecting too much. I watched one of their games this season, and the announcers said he was the first Duke's coach to have multiple 20-win seasons in 50 years. If that's what floats their boat, then they hired the right guy. A great mid-major coach fights above his weight class. Keith is good within his weight class, but not above it.

No NIT appearances, not NCAA appearances, and I believe no finish higher than 5th in the A10 since his arrival. The A-10 is weaker than when he arrived too as they are now a basically 1-2 bid league annually. He definitely took them out of the basement, but they aren't real contenders. I think I read on their board he's averaging something like 6-7 players entering the transfer portal every year since his arrival. Lot of turnover.

Certainly would rather see Ohio than Toledo in the finals. Gotta get there though.

If A J Brown hangs around he's going to be a problem going forward.

Duquesne really ramped up spending on the basketball side. They paid Dambrot significantly more than their previous coach. They gutted their arena and pretty much replaced everything new. I have to imagine their plan was to be a top 3-5 team in the A10 with 1-2 tourney appearances by now. I wouldn't say his tenure has been a complete disaster, but I have to imagine it has fallen short of what they expected.

Reghi is the voice of the MAC and no one else should ever be on a MAC game. He might be bad but he's our bad announcer

I had the Dukes in my parlay tonight. Really didn't think they'd lose to one of the worst A10 teams. ..and to think, KD went to that school for an easier path to the NCAA Tournament.

Had a couple chances in the 2nd half but were just completely overmatched. Played hard but can’t be too surprised by the outcome.

Success is measured in winning.
