He's 100% correct. One half of all players in the TP will end up with nothing. I think kids aren't thinking through things clearly. At some point, playing careers end. The options discussed are to stay and try your best or take the risk of the portal. The one rarely discussed is not playing football and just staying and graduating, then getting a job. I'm sure for many guys, the burden of not playing would be a relief. I actually think if a school runs a player off of a team because they want to open up a scholarship for someone who they think is better, the kid run off should still get a full scholarship to that school. If coaches are living up to their word in a family's living room during recruiting, the promise of a chance at graduating should be honored. Maybe acting honorably is too much to ask, but I don't think it is.4 points

at minimum 3, up to 4 new QBs coming with this, with high likelihood of of only one of them being a HS commit. Sure hope the staff can find or develop a suitable option for next season with the 2 we currently have in the room + 2-3 transfers.3 points

CB that started 9 games for Georgia State this season. Preseason All-Conference. 34 total tackles, an interception, and 6 passes defensed.2 points

Geez. About a minute of content and 4 minutes of advertisement in that 5 minute clip.1 point

Miami just won 11 games and a MAC championship and their QB in line to start the next 2 seasons is leaving. He’s solid but not a top tier MAC QB. Nobody is safe.1 point

Somewhat of a bummer as he played a lot this year and has good size/length. He's later in his career so unsure how much more growth potential is there. Either way, not an all conference guy and about as developed as he'll be by this point, so replaceable.1 point

I actually think I like that floor better than the JAR. While the paint/logos are exactly the same, it seems like the wood has more contrast to it which is kinda cool. Unless it's just the photo. I'm happy that the basketball teams have somewhere other than the JAR to practice. Now it's time to fix that place.1 point

Sharp. I like that the court is an exact copy of the court in the JAR. Big program enhancement here.1 point

If you have shown nothing on a 2 win team, what does that say about your talent level at division one. The students that are transferring have a tough sell unless they move down from a division one school.1 point

Nice trend this portal period so far. Guys I've never heard of/who are buried on the depth chart are leaving.1 point

Jeff Sobol. Joined us last season from Kent after Lewis left for Colorado. I don’t know, but as @catdaddyp alluded to, could be reuniting with Lewis at SDSU.1 point

Now wait a minute, in the last minute of the 1st half Toledo scored 3 times, only to have them called back on penalties.....Then when they actually scored they had their XP blocked. I am 100% positive the Zippers could do all of that!1 point

The common denominator is Akron needs to win. If we win = fans will come. Nobody wants to sit out in the cold and watch mediocre football. Aside from not producing a winning program on the field our merchandising department still SUCKS. It would be nice to go into the team store and be able to buy a Akron Zips Jersey of any sport vs having to buy from a student athlete selling their apparel under the table on Ebay or buying fake jerseys from dhgate made in China. I once emailed the AD asking about buying a pair of Lebron's Akron Zips colorway shoes the basketball team wears. I Told him I was also willing to add a donation on top of the purchase. Was pretty much told no. I Went right to ebay and got them. I would rather my money go to the University but the powers that be fail to see the bigger picture smh. @ZipsEquipment is my favorite Twitter Handle in regards to Univ Athletics on social media. Whoever runs that handle does a great job even though it irks me seeing merch us fans can't have.1 point

I wonder about how good the young recruits actually are when I see so many questionable starters and the young kids never seeing the field.1 point
