  1. I’m just going to tell my friends I’m going to see “Hamilton” this weekend. Sounds much classier that way.

  2. Me too. Favorite hoops player ever. Started with academic scholarship and walked on makes him more endearing.

  3. Enrique is such a beast. Most of my favorite Zips have been front court players... Jeremiah Wood, Romeo Travis, Tree Treadwell, Zeke Marshall. Absolutely all-time Zips greats. Here we are in year 4 of 'Rique's career and for some reason I still can't get my mind around the fact I'd take Enrique in front of all of them. I still remember what I thought was a laughably optimistic over-reaction by @NWAkron to a video which popped up online of Enrique playing well in the Akron-Canton "Defense Optional" Pro-Am summer league. He looked pretty decent in the video but even after watching it I never thought Enrique would even be put on scholarship.

  4. They have one or two of these every year. Muskinghum and Jackson State last year. Florida A & M the year before. Southern and Concord the year before. They seem to be scheduled around the end of the fall semester, so I suspect it has something to do with getting them on the floor without interfering with exams.

  7. Thanks. Hope he stays. Big loss if he doesn't.

  8. Yesterday, NDSU played Oak Hills Christian College. In 2021 Oak Hills had an enrollment of 94 students. They have 6 sports, Mens soccer, M&W basketball, M&W Cross Country, and Women’s volleyball. The leading scorer for Oak Hills in this game is also on the soccer team. They shot 6-49 from the floor, 1-20 from deep, and only attempted 3 free throws (making 1)

  9. Our Team Shop wasn't even open last game, I'm not holding my breath (although I agree!)

  12. Southern, Jackson State, and Florida A&M are Division 1. Muskingum, Heidelberg, and Miami-Hamilton are not. I have no problem with playing one non-D1 each year either to start the season or coming out of exams, but both seems a bit much. One or the other could be a FAMU type. Many of us lament the fact that bigger names/bigger conference schools never come to the JAR but I wish the reverse would happen too. Would love to see the Zips play a road game at a Southern or NC Central or Dartmouth type school early in the season. I know it may not do a ton for metrics but it seems like a likely win while learning to do so in a true road environment while team building. This year’s team is old so may not be as big of a deal, but would like to see it most seasons.

  13. As far as I know we haven't offered this guy, but we did offer him out of high school. He was a 3-star QB prospect from Centerville, OH. Just someone to keep an eye on.

  14. I had the same skepticism when @Hilltopper had rave reviews about Freeman. Next thing I know he’s starting.

  15. He’s a guy that visited a while back and it seemed like we were in the drivers seat before he committed to Monmouth. Will have to see if anything picks up here.

  16. Good question, @Illini Zip. Tough to say. Not really. He's built like a shorter Ali Ali, but he didn't post up back to the basket or shoot midrange at all. He's got a more natural outside shot than Nate Johnson. But I'm gonna say he's kinda like Nate in that he's going to have to develop just a little bit more confidence & then he's got the potential to be very good. But in the game I saw he didn't shoot midrange like Nate. More like Dawson in that it's either at the rim or from 3. He did cut to the basket a couple of times but the passes he received weren't very good - I would have liked to have seen what he could do had he gotten some decent passes. He never shot a 3 coming off a screen but I could definitely envision him doing so as he's got a very smooth stroke. He's a really good ball handler & he looks taller than 6'3" but the Moeller roster lists him at 6'3" so I'll trust them.
