I don't have time to discuss it now as I am on my way to put the "For Sale" sign in Groce's front yard.5 points

Look at that crowd, it really makes me sad we don't have that anymore. I can't believe that's the same school.3 points

The 1-6 Golden Eagles of SUNY Brockport come to the JAR Saturday afternoon at 3:00 as a part of a doubleheader with the Zips women. The Beagles are familiar with Ohio having previously lost to Case Western, John Carroll and Mount Union. 6'2" junior guard Zachary Rice leads scoring at 13.4 ppg while also contributing 5.3 rpg. I'm trying but can't put a positive spin on this one. Evan Wilson is healed up so we'll get to see him!1 point

Can't believe how much the TP has taken away from the excitement surrounding Signing Day. For about 30 years this has been like Christmas morning to me but anymore it's meh. Gotta see who we get in the TP who can help us immediately next season. Oh well. Things change.1 point

Save the majority of roster spots for the physically mature 20+ year olds, sprinkle in some stud freshman, and it's hard to complain.1 point

QB and both OL. I like all of the signings though. Small in number, but should be a really good class.1 point

Who are you referring to, @catdaddyp? I'm guess you're referring to our QB Broughton and one of the OL that you said you wouldn't be surprised if he got some PT next season... but I forget which OL you said that about.1 point

We do this every year. He may leave, but hope not. Hasn’t yet.1 point

You mean an unlimited NIL fund, no head coaching responsibilities, an incoming QB that is a JoeMo RPO wet dream, one of the top defensive units in CFB year in and year out (especially with Wink there now), and only a few hours further from where he is currently? The Michigan OC job is about as attractive as it gets.1 point

OSU is in the top 20 and does a horrible job spending the ocean of NIL money they have. Maybe it's the screwed up system nobody can figure out.1 point

Good to hear. I look forward to seeing the new roster with positions attached to names once the dust settles.1 point

I'm not much of a soccer fan, but my best moment for sure is when we won the National Championship over Louisville in 2010!1 point

Great class. There are a few players in it that we probably had no business landing.1 point

Ouch. Their record is now 1-7 but, with the exception of DePaul, they're not getting blown out. Lipscomb - lost by 5 Princeton - lost by 7 DePaul - lost by 26 Milwaukee - lost by 6 South Dakota State - lost by 11 (we know how tough they are) Hampton - lost by 5 St. Peters - lost by 3 Hang in there Dru!1 point

Tavari has taken a lot of criticism on here, but he deserves credit for stepping up and being consistent so far this season. Unsure how long he’ll hold Young off, but if he doesn’t, that’s more of a credit to Young because he’s really freaking good.1 point

Offer to OT DJ Johnson of Western Kentucky. Only played in 2 games this year, but was a JUCO standout previously.1 point

Every fanbase thinks the world is ending and this hurts their team more than anyone else. It's just a new reality that everyone has to deal with and whoever can learn how to take advantage of it before the others will succeed. Part of this working at a MAC school is bringing those recruits back that you recruited out of high school and went elsewhere, and you have the connections and foundation to bring them back on the second try. A big part of why high school recruiting will still be important1 point

Between the portal stuff and seeing schools have a $20M "NIL" fund, I wonder how many years it will be before people start just not caring about college football. I'm starting to get there.1 point

Here's a little Zips-related nugget. As if losing 4 straight to Michigan (especially this year's squad) isn't bad enough, Ryan Day has also trailed in all of his games vs Akron.1 point

In this instance it isn't hijacking a Zips-related thread with osu talk. It's under the "World of College Football" thread. So it is fine.1 point

Tulane has 9 wins and has been good in recent years. They have historically been a horrendous program. If you think winning can't happen for us, you are kidding yourself.1 point

Wow, thank you for your input. That is a great report. Top Drawer soccer did a special article on Logan Lamaina on August 15, 2024 (shortly after he had announced his commitment to Akron) I have attached below the link to the article. We all know that Akron graduates 2 outstanding center backs (Jonas and Beto). We also know that Akron will return their 2 very good outside defensive backs (Ashton and Josh). Below the link, I will include some small tidbits from the article.....to help us better understand Logan's strengths as a soccer player. https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/article/?categoryId=26&articleId=53633&articleTitle=commitments:-looking-to-level-up A talented and versatile player, Logan LaMaina has excelled in every platform of youth soccer. Formerly a striker, LaMaina has since moved back, playing as an outside/wing back for his club side while also gaining experience in central defense at Pennridge High School in Southeastern PA. Along with competing for Sporting, he’s played for FC Bucks/Hex FC and PA Dominion FC. “A thing I really liked about the program that was a deciding factor was they play in a very high level conference which is something I've always wanted to do,” LaMaina said.1 point

This kid is one of the top defenders in MLS. He’s big, skilled, fast, and smart on the ball. He is also one of the top rated sprinters in the country. This is a huge addition for the Zips!1 point
