Took the kids to the zoo today and didn’t get back til about 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter and turned it off with about 6 minutes left out of frustration. In that time, I saw multiple Kent TDs, an interception, the worst fake punt I’ve seen in my life, 3 pass interference calls, and a fumbled kickoff recovered by Kent. Also pretty inexplicable play calling by Joe Mo (3 straight passes for a 3 and out when the running game was gettting 5+ YPC the drive before. Hate to say it, but I think I’m out on Akron football until something changes. I don’t think Joe is HC material in this era of NCAA sports, but also not naive enough to think anything changes regardless of who the coach is unless we actually invest in the program in ways that matter. Dire situation.2 points

This isn’t looking good. Driving down and scoring on our first possession is always the kiss of death! Sure loss!2 points

I'm with @exit322 our must wins for the purpose of salvaging our season were against CMU or EMU. At best with a win at Kent we finish as a 3-4 win team, but a real possibility of 2-10. I don't think a win changes anything. We have no postseason aspirations and in year 5 we're long past moral victories. That's not to say I wouldn't enjoy beating Kent, but it would in no way change the trajectory of our season.2 points

I think we can blame many of the offensive woes on the early season departure of offensive coordinator Marty Whims.1 point

Every week the team makes the same mistakes. Pass interference penalties. False start penalties. Personal fouls. Missed assignments. Burning timeouts due to late play calls and wrong personnel packages. There is no discipline. This falls squarely on the coaches. Joe Mo may have been a good offensive coordinator in the past but he has been abysmal at Akron. Bottom line is that he is not head coaching material. Hopefully he takes a job elsewhere this offseason and Akron will reset, again.1 point

Pretty much my thoughts for the last 2-3 years. Edit: I was a bit more invested than usual this year as the viral promotion actually got me interested for a bit. Along with the false hope that we could build off of last year and at least be watchable in what's a pathetic MAC. Either way I'm glad you got to enjoy time with your family. It was a better 3 hours spent.1 point

All you ignorant fine dining basement living assholes owe me an apology. If you are offended then YES I AM TALKING TO YOU. I told yall years ago NoMoorHead was hot garbage. And yall silenced and banned me for it. Some of you need to go with him when he is finally fired because yall are indeed part of the problem. Hot garbage enablers. Absolute joke of a football program.1 point

After that performance, I guess if there's a booster thinking about it...1 point

It could be worse I guess. But it would take some kind of special to be worse. Never mind the fact we have had 2 worse coaches in the stadium’s lifespan1 point

That's it for me. All the way out on Moorhead. Oh but what if the next guy is worse? Does it get worse?1 point

For an open handed slap? Totally lost composure, but at least someone is showing that they are pissed off and frustrated by this train wreck of a team. They just march in and march out with no emotion every freaking week. If he never wore a zip’s uniform again all the other players would be so jealous. 😂1 point

he is an embarrassment to the program. it's obvious he is losing on purpose. he is not developing the players that are on the team. he is setting the program back years. fire him tomorrow cut the string out an interim in place and move on. the program will not survive another season with him. he completely lost this team it's over. no transfers are going to come here with him as the coach. the team is done playing for him and we have the top two teams coming in. blow it up now...1 point

Why are we wasting clock like this? Way to show no confidence in your offense, Joe.1 point

Seems throwing bombs to get pass interference calls is probably the route.1 point

I don't care what the TV contracts pays. These games should all be on Saturdays.1 point

Regardless of the hapless state of our football program today is still Kent and that means we need to win. We can all unite on that. Even those whose every post is a snide, stating-the-obvious, boring crack against Joe Moorhead. Anytime we play Kent we must be together in our dislike of them. Goodrich will sort out the best direction for the program afterwards. Of that I have no doubt. I just hope he is with us long enough to see the positive outcome of his decisions. he is destined for an athletic program far bigger than us.1 point

Amato was largely responsible for most of the success of Akron football during the Bowden era.1 point
