  1. Perhaps that includes some preferred walk-ons
  2. I don't know how we can jump to conclusions on how this will impact the program without knowing the target numbers.
  3. All fans in the country feels their conference has the worst officials. All fans also feel their team comes up on the short end of calls.
  4. Are we really going to have posts before and/or after every Duquesne game from one side or the other for the remainder of the season?
  5. I have to imagine they would have stricter regulations on "olympic sports".
  6. Doubt this game had much impact on the Bobcat faithful. The fans had to of gone into this figuring they'd lose.
  7. There were probably a few overcritical posters, but @LZIp hit the nail on the head, all programs with high expectations have them. What was posted on this board was pretty mild compared to what I've seen other fan bases post on the internet.
  8. I want a Zippy that can do back flips off a trampoline while dunking a basketball
  9. The student organization still exists. They just seem much more tamer these days and smaller in numbers.
  10. Let's not get carried away. His 2011-2012 Ohio team certainly was more talented than this rag tag bunch, but he still took a 13 seeded OU to the Sweet 16.
  11. I'm for one grateful to see competition at the position next season. Granted I haven't seen Riak play yet, but I'm not 100% sold on any of them. That's not to say I haven't seen things that I like, but all of them have a long way to go before they become contenders for All-MAC teams. Hopefully the competition makes them work harder to earn their minutes and we see some of this potential develop into on the court talent.
  12. I agree most require at least a duo. CJ McCollum is another example of a mid-major player who put his team on his back to carry his team to an upset. He likely would have been in the running for some accolades the following season, but had a season ending injury. Man how I wish he didn't get away.
  13. I was pointing out a big time MAC player who left for a P5 program pretty much costing OU their season this year. IDK if it was the added pressure, a loss of confidence, or what, but Simmons isn't the same player. He was getting minutes and was in the rotation at UM at the start of the season, but he stunk up the joint leading himself for find a place on the bench.
  14. I'm with @72 Roo. I wasn't all that impressed with the run blocking. I'm not sure if that was because of the O-line coach or lack of talent on the offensive line. Either way it's an area we will need to improve as a team.
  15. Time will tell, but I just don't see it being a wash. I see these P5 schools targeting proven players that are good enough to put a team on their back for a game or 2 in March and exchange we get above average MAC starters.
  16. I don't think there is any denying the fact Duquesne has improved. Last year they were the cupcake. This year they are beating the cupcakes. That being said it's not some miraculous turnaround. When you're at the bottom, there is only 1 direction that you can go.
  17. I don't think we'll see top 25 teams exclusively recruit mid-major players, but it's certainly going to be a tool they use.
  18. I see this benefiting G5 in football, but hindering mid-majors in basketball.
  19. Zone defense typically creates a lot of offensive rebound opportunities. Considering 11 of our 21 rebounds came on the offensive end, that explains a lot.
  20. I for one am a huge fan of what Haynes has accomplished at KSU. I wish they would have kept him longer
  21. Are we still talking about this?
  22. No, I'm not a fan either.
  23. Just be aware that you will now become if the scapegoat if they lose...
  24. In a game in which Utomi & Duvivier went a combined 2/15 for 8 points, it's no surprise we got curb stomped. We just don't have enough on this roster to overcome that. Heading into this season I knew we'd have nights like this. I just hope the minutes the young players are getting exposed to now pays dividends in the future.
