  1. Correct, Boise State will get Iowa State in the championship game, while the Zips will draw South Carolina and then again three days later. Great.
  2. Zips have played a good game but they needed a great game to beat a top 25 team.
  3. Dammit another opposition rainbow three at the halftime buzzer for the second day in a row.
  4. Tragic news, if there was any coach who showed he loved what he did and was as excitable as anyone it was Alan Arrington. R.I.P coach.
  5. Last year's tournament was also run by ESPN and they had a separation on the 1st round winners and losers brackets which would mean we cannot see SMC no matter what now. And for South Carolina, if you don't want to see them twice in a week, root for the opposite to happen to them as what happens for the Zips. Although frankly, seeing them in the Diamond Head championship and then again in a few days would be OK with me. I do not want to see them in the championship consolation and then again three days later.
  6. The finishing dunk was fun too.
  7. Been waiting for one like that. So over the last several years we have wins over Fla. St (ACC), Miss St. (SEC), Big Ten (Penn St) and PAC-12 (Ore St). Biggest conference scalp we are missing is the Big-12. So who do we have next? Iowa St. Hmm.
  8. "FEED THE TREE" Favorite quote of the night.
  9. Other than missing two free throws, got to give Ibitayo some props. And on the Diggs foul on the three, Big Dog got hit on the hand exactly the same way earlier in the game with no foul called. Zips are hanging tough. Helluva game from Pat.
  10. Loved that comment "Refs are letting them play a little" - after 22 fouls have been called.
  11. Kwan Cheatham sighting
  12. Just saw some serious defense from Nick Harney and Evans is on fire! Edit: And then two quick dumb fouls from Harney.
  13. Helluva beginning, 10-0 to start the game. How you like us Prez?
  14. Domenik Hixon's first TD catch of the year just put Carolina in the playoffs.
  15. Now the page doesn't even show up any more.
  16. The speed at which those votes escalated means there was a bot at work - no way human entries were increasing it like that.
  17. I think the most remarkable stat of the game was Tree hitting 12-15 FT's. 80%. Wow. Just having that many free throws is impressive.
  18. The last 10 MAC East winners (no repeat champions and every team but Temple/UMass represented): Bowling Green Can't Ohio Miami Ohio Buffalo Bowling Green Ohio Akron Miami I don't think anybody has the East locked already and right now I give the Zips as good a shot as anyone (for BGSU, you never know how a coaching change is going to affect a team - ask Can't).
  19. We are? I just voted again and my results looked like this: Which men's title-winning team is the best of all time? 2010 Akron (53%, 3,193 Votes) 1998 Indiana (24%, 1,452 Votes) 2008 Maryland (22%, 1,314 Votes) 1993 Virginia (0%, 28 Votes) 1997 UCLA (1%, 26 Votes)
  20. Bleacher Report ranked all 126 FBS team after the season and the Zips finished at 101. Of course being Bleacher Report they had to not pay that much attanetion and do something stupid like pick a team the Zips beat and finished lower in the MAC standings ahead of them as team 99. How the hell did CNN think these guys would be an appropriate sports partner site?
  21. Regardless of what you think of Mel Kiper, he has another MAC player listed in his top five draft picks - no surprise - Khalil Mack. That's good for the conference (plus Jordan Lynch getting an invite to the Heisman ceremony doesn't hurt).
  22. They seem happy to have him (and have only one listed center on the roster). Glad to see him back in the States.
  23. College Cup - three ACC schools (MD, VA, ND) and a mid major (New Mexico). Sounds an awful lot like 2009. Hope New Mexico gets a better result.
  24. Glad the article mentioned opportunity cost so football at Temple which just cost about 150 athletes their opportunities and football in general (since it takes so many playesr) also has an oppotunity cost for many non-football playing male athletes because of title nine. With all of the injuries associated with it maybe this would fit into the "Will we always have football?" thread.
  25. Sometimes it can be because a guy put in the work in practice, sometimes it can be to send a message, sometimes the coach is experimenting with lineups. As long as it works we're happy. Glad to hear Alex was at the game, that has to be awfully hard for him. He made a huge mistake, he paid the price and hopefully that means he intends to try to finish up since he didn't just go into hiding. Good for him.
