  1. News just keeps getting better and better for Baylor. Now their S&C coach has been fired after getting caught in a prostitution sting.
  2. I think this is the game the Zips finally let their frustrations loose and have a big game with lots of made threes. I think the under on FT% simply because I thing Big Dog will get lots of opportunities.
  3. Akron Zips (19-4, 9-1 MAC) vs Ball State (15-8, 6-4 MAC) Tuesday, February 7 • James A. Rhodes Arena Akron, Ohio • 6:o0 p.m. ET TV/Video: American Sports Network Live Stats: GoZips.com/Schedule - Live Stats Radio: Akron-IMG Sports Network - Steve French (PxP) and Joe Dunn (Analyst) WARF 1350 AM (flagship), iHeart Radio, TuneIn.com/Akron Zips Any hangover from the Ohio loss? Ball State is sort of sneaky good, glad we have this one at home.
  4. To get this back on track as a celebration of a ZIP going into the Pro Football HOF, in case anyone is interested I checked into some of the events at the induction weekend. A lot of them are really pricy and not things I care that much about. The one I really wanted was the Enshrinement ceremony on Saturday. There is a one day package for that at $270 that includes: Enshrinement Celebration Fan Party Class of 2017 Enshrinement Ceremony Prime Lower Level Seats 1-Day Hall of Fame Admission There might be cheaper ways to go but how often are you guaranteed lower level seats to see a UA player get inducted? So if anyone is interested in that the link is https://hofexperiences.com/2017-pro-football-hall-of-fame/single-day-package I'm also seriously thinking about the Gold Jacket Dinner that is held at the Canton Civic Center. They don't have the date absolutely set yet but tickets are available. They are $120. Anyone interested in joining together to maybe get an Akron table for that event?
  5. That would be the very definition of Jason Taylor :-)
  6. Plus we also know he wasn't feeling too well yesterday. Even with a poor shooting afternoon he still had a pretty good game.
  7. Zips outscored 22-7 AFTER Big Dog returned.
  8. No winners this week. Seems appropriate.
  9. Terrible 3-point shooting and Ohio shooting way above its average on free throws on way too many fouls doomed the Zips in this one
  10. Quit settling for threes and drive the damn ball you're in the double bonus
  11. I'm even going to complain about the fouls on Ohio. This is ridiculous
  12. And there it is. 4 fouls one real. Unbelievable. Way to change the game refs
  13. Of our remaining games I'm not sure which wouldn't be considered a bad loss, maybe one of the away games at Ohio, EMU or Buffalo? Just looking ahead at seeding a little bit if the Zips would go a very disappointing 4-5 over their last nine games, Ball State would need to go 7-2 including beating the Zips in Akron to overtake them. Anyone else would have to go at least 8-1. Would take a pretty epic collapse even only halfway through the season to lose that #1 seed. Ball State currently holds the second seed by one game and then there are 7 teams that are 5-4 or 4-5!
  14. Its correct but it includes only games against Ohio. And only the last 10 at that.
  15. Akron Zips (19-3, 9-0 MAC) at Ohio Bobcats (13-7, 5-4 MAC) Saturday February 4 • Ohio Convocation Center Athens, Ohio • 12 p.m. ET TV/Video: CBS Sports Network (ASN) Live Stats: GoZips.com/Schedule - Live Stats Radio: Akron-IMG Sports Network - Steve French (PxP) and Joe Dunn (Analyst) WARF 1350 AM (flagship), iHeart Radio, TuneIn.com/Akron Zips All-Time Series Akron Leads: 40-37 Last Meeting: Akron 83, Ohio 68, January 16, 2017 at James A. Rhodes Arena The team who I believe has been our biggest rival gives the Zips another test. Unbelievably there are the only team in the MAC that the Zips have beaten by more than ten points, I think this one will be a lot closer with the absolute possibility of an upset. Have at it Zips fans
  16. In the spirit of the thread - FIFY.
  17. I'd love to the team to be ranked but no where have I seen anyone mention the Zips as a bubble team. When your best "win" is a loss to Gonzaga, probably means MACC or bust. The MAC is definitely not helping this year.
  18. Whew that was a "fun" one. As long as the majority of the people are right on question one who cares about the other ones? :-) 8 Quiz winners tonight, MDZip finally gets his own right plus Joe Akron (nice to see he's finally paying attention), AK-Rowdy4Life, tboned, bigzipguy, Blue & Gold and ZIPSMOM2 who has a right to be more to be proud of than any of us. They were close questions, Zips were 11-28 on threes for 39.3% for the over, and the crew of Cheatham (9), Jackson (game high 22) and Ivey (6) narrowly edged out Big Dog (21), Williams (3) and Robotham (10), 37 to 34. And did anyone get my play on words on question one, Fat Pants Sizes (Huskies)? Bueller? Anyone? Keep rolling Zips!
  19. Antino baby!
  20. At this point NIU has scored only 18 second half points
  21. Far from over. NIU is not going to stay this hot
  22. I just got a whole new level of respect for Jerod Cherry after reading this.
  23. Sorry for being a little late still recovering from the Buffalo game. :-) Took a few things from GoZips.com for some background and indeed the Zips last trip to DeKalb was a loss. Any post Buffalo let down in what has historically been a tough place for the Zips to play? Akron Zips (18-3, 8-0 MAC) at Northern Illinois (13-8, 5-3 MAC) Tuesday, January 31 • NIU Convocation Center DeKalb, Ill. • 8:00 p.m. ET TV/Video: WatchESPN/ESPN3 - Andy Garcia (PxP) and Carl Armato (Analyst) Live Stats: GoZips.com/Schedule - Live Stats Radio: Akron-IMG Sports Network - Steve French (PxP) and Joe Dunn (Analyst) WARF 1350 AM (flagship), iHeart Radio, TuneIn.com/Akron Zips All-Time Series: Akron Leads: 23-11 Last Meeting: Northern Illinois 80, Akron 79 - Feb. 13, 2016 - NIU Convocation Center, DeKalb, Ill.
  24. And the MAC East player of the week! In Northeast Ohio nothing is given everything is earned. Well earned.
