  1. Pretty sure Groce's roster is set for the season
  2. Uh, ok. Have a nice day.
  3. How do you think they paid for all the other improvements? BTW, I forgot about the new turf at Infocision.
  4. Do you think these events have no cost to produce? I hope you just forgot to insert the sarcasm emoji.
  5. Nobody is going to sit at an outside facility to watch March basketball in NE Ohio.
  6. The issue is not technical, it is financial. The new scoreboard is going to be about $1 million. Athletics doesn't have an unlimited budget. Just in the last year or so they have funded a new outdoor track facilty, new sound system for soccer, a practice gym for basketball, a video scoreboard and training system for swimming and diving, mandated padding and fencing for baseball and softball fields, an upgraded weight room for football. I'm sure there are more that I haven't listed. There is a plan to fund the new scoreboard. It would happen faster is someone were to step up with a big donation. I can see it now, The GREAT GP 1 scoreboard at the Bg Dialer!
  7. Revealed last night, he is also a Swiftie! The team loves him.
  8. There will be a list at the door. See you there!
  9. At least you are consistant! Lol
  10. Prior to this season, your $500 ticket got you nothing but a seat. I find the level of entitlement in todays world exasperating. Sorry that menu (typical tailgate fare) not up to your standards. The vast majority of the $500 ticket is actually a donation to the Z-Fund which is used to support the student athletes. https://x.com/Akron_Z_Fund?t=HYsvZ4yh8qr0pULIh89N-w&s=09
  11. Lol! It might take $50 to keep them.
  12. Food and a cash bar. A chance to mingle with the players and coaching staff in a relaxed atmosphere. A short program to introduce everybody. Usually a trivia game by the players about Zips related subjects. Overall an enjoyable event.
  13. I just threw that number out there to stimulate conversation about the impact of the NIL. Maybe $50k is a more reasonable #.
  14. I totally support the idea that people can bitch all they want. But bitching about things doesn't accomplish anything. If you want a winning program you need to play by the rules of NIL. A good QB transfer will want to get paid.
  15. All you guys bitching on here about the QB play need to put your money where your mouth is. If you want a talented QB, it takes money in this NIL day and age. I'll start a go fund me page to finance it. It should only cost about $150k.
  16. At least we're in some pretty good company. 🙃
  17. Adams is injured. He will return when he is able bodied.
  18. They used to do this before Covid. The band has the option to play as much as they want. As a former trumpet player, I can tell you it is impossible to play at every available opportunity in a five hour football game day. Remember it is not just what goes on in the stadium. There is also all the pregame activities on campus before they arrive at the stadium.
  19. During the hayday of the Acme-Zip game there were only a couple of games a week on broadcast TV and livestream wasn't even a word yet.
  20. Maybe UCLA should hire one of them too. https://www.heartlandcollegesports.com/2022/09/03/look-ucla-sets-record-low-attendance-at-rose-bowl/
  21. Scanners and clear bag policies were mandates from the MAC that did come with a cost. Money that could have been spent elsewhere. The search for a marketing director was extensive but in todays job market finding one was not easy. A very small pool of qualified applicants.
  22. There was a meet and greet months ago.
  23. Irons tore his ACL. His career as a Zip is officially over. On to the next QB.
  24. Yes
