  1. Women's soccer coach is next.
  2. If it was a one time occurrence, then yes they overreacted.
  3. "There's always a chance, too, that an established coach with a pretty good gig sees Xavier as an opportunity for a reset. (A la Shaka Smart leaving Texas for Marquette last offseason.) Who that would be is anyone's guess. Beyond that, you get to the standard list of successful mid-major coaches, some of whom are relatively local: Cleveland State's Dennis Gates, Wright State's Scott Nagy, Toledo's Tod Kowalczyk." From The Athletic
  4. He was cramping from dehydration. At the 4 minute time out they were loading him with electrolytes.
  5. Both of those kids ended up at UA because KD was the only d1 coach who believed in them. He made a commitment to their familys that would always have place on his team. They made the choice to follow him to Duquesne. He didn't actively recruit them.
  6. https://www.rocketmortgagefieldhouse.com/group/detail/pass Scroll to the Mac Tournament and use the promo code ARIZZO
  7. Won't affect his playing time at all. It's how they do things at PCCC.
  8. Grand Cayman is a really nice destination. I would encourage anyone who has the time and the means to make the trip. Plenty of opportunities to get to know the players and staff on a personal level.
  9. The Polsky building is well used. They are planning on remodeling the Main Street entrance for retail and restaurants.
  10. The reason those changes happened now was the change in leadership. New president and new AD.
  11. I think the concensus on the branding committee is that the Roo has run it's course as a primary logo. It still might find a place as a amusing one off t-shirt use or on a beer mug.
  12. I am sad to see my friend George moving on to a new challange. If there was ever someone who bled Blue and Gold it would be George. From his playing days as a pitcher to his time in the athletics department he always had UA and it's athletes as a top priority. You will be sorely missed George. Dear Zips Nation, Since 1994, I have roamed the hilltop affectionately called Akron U. by the locals. In my time as a student-athlete and as an employee, I have come to love working with students, coaches, faculty, administrators, and staff to advance the University. I have been a part of great teams in Advancement and Athletics. We shared in the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. Thank you for working with me to make The University of Akron a great public research university with an unsurpassed commitment to the community. In my 24-years on campus as an employee, I have accomplished and learned a lot. I still have much to learn and greater challenges I want to take on. It is bittersweet to tell you that I am leaving UA and will be joining you as donors and season ticket holders rooting our Zips on from the stands. I leave for a great opportunity which will allow me to grow and thrive personally and professionally while keeping my family in the Akron area. I want to thank all of you for your love, support, and friendship over the years. I leave knowing Akron Athletics has a great foundation to continue to achieve championships in the classroom and in competition. Forever a Zip, George
  13. If we didn't let NIU shoot 60% from the field in the second half we wouldn't have needed for everything to go perfectly for us to win.
  14. The biggest problem with this team is the inability to get stops on defense. Our guards are slow footed and can't stay in front of their man. The result of that is just what we're seeing this week. Lot's of drives to the basket that end up in layups or wide open threes for our opponent. This is the worst defensive team Groce has put on the court.
  15. He was a little misguided on a lot of things.
  16. Substitute the word "I'm" for "we're" and you can see what he was really thinking.
