  1. I wonder how that works with Title IX.
  2. If we got rid of the orange stat boards (they don't work half the time anyway), we could replace them with shorter, higher resolution, multi-colored ribbon displays. That would allow enough room to put up steeper bleacher seating behind the baseboard, which you can pack a lot more students into. I wouldn't mind that. The current blue seats back there are just not conducive to the kind of environment you want in a student section. It's too spread out and too shallow (four or five rows when you could double that with bleachers in the same space)
  3. Only Toledo is in a position to get a BCS bowl, by virtue of currently being ranked. I don't see an unranked MAC team climbing to a top-16 spot in the time remaining this season.
  4. Things really started going downhill with the final drive of the first half. How much time was wasted with Williams calling audibles at the line? At least 25 seconds per snap. We had a great chance to go down the field and score a TD, but we wasted so much time that we had to settle for a FG. Also, do we have anybody on the team capable of fielding a kickoff return cleanly/intelligently? What's Jeff Bowden teaching these kids?
  5. Moving the students opens up the section they were previously sitting in, which is over 100 seats that are closer to the court than the ones on the sideline. It's not a one-sided exchange.
  6. No, it wasn't. It's very different than last year. Last year down low, both sections behind the basket were students, with half of the south side (or more, depending on how many dozens of trombone players the band felt they needed in a small indoor environment) dedicated to the band. This year, students will only sit on the south side, while the band will be in the northwest corner behind the basket, perforating the eardrums of the players' families and some of the most dedicated season ticket holders, and drowning out coach Dambrot during timeouts. What little space they don't take up will be given to recruits to sit near the Zips home bench, although I don't think we'll ever be able to win over a recruit if we sit them next to the band. The upper student section has completely switched sides, and they'll now be sitting on the south end, the section nearest the main entrance, but opposite the student entrance, forcing the GA crowd and students to push past each other when trying to get to their seats. This whole arrangement was poorly planned.
  7. If you transfer to a lower division, you don't have to sit out.
  8. Something that's always mentioned in college football is that it's better to lose early in the season rather than late. It's true in soccer, too. Maryland giving up 4 goals in a game is not going to help their case, either.
  9. We need this.
  10. I only tuned in for a little bit.
  11. Jawon Chisholm is ready to go, according to coach Bowden. Caponi and Presley will play a little.
  12. Coach Bowden just mentioned on ZipsLive that they're looking to get four or five JUCO guys.
  13. Not Melo? I think he should play at least 33 minutes at the point in both exhibition games.
  14. Not in the first year. Miami under Michael Haywood took their huge leap in their second year. Ditto Can't with their current coach. It took Brian Kelly three years to get CMU going. Ohio took two years under Solich.
  15. I wonder if Maryland tying at home will break their monopoly on first-place votes in the poll.
  16. Why complain about recruiting? Our recruiting class is shaping up to look pretty good.
  17. He's speaking at 12:30. The game was supposed to be at 7:00. I don't think he'll be there long enough to really affect the JAR staff's gameday prep. Worst case, we could move the start time to 8:00.
  18. Our problems are the same ones we knew we would have going into the season. Lack of talent, and lack of confidence. When things go bad, we let them get worse instead of fighting back.
  19. What happened in Oxford is that Ohio played their first non-horrible opponent since Penn State, and couldn't handle it.
  20. Toledo escapes Buffalo 25-20. Rockets should be ranked next week.
  21. BG beats EMU 24-3
  22. Now's the time to make adjustments.
  23. 4-0 Final.
  24. We get the ball to start the 2nd half, and the defense is getting some stops. We should have another chance before the end of the half.
